Trainer Ciaron Maher is keen to raise the bar even higher for Charleise after her Eagle Farm victory.

In-form mare Charleise has put herself in the frame for a start in the Group 1 Tattersall's Tiara with a barnstorming come-from-behind win in the Spear Chief Handicap at Eagle Farm. 

It was the four-year-old's second victory in succession and the third from her past four starts, all in different states after she followed a win in Melbourne with victories in Sydney and Brisbane. 

Co-trainer Ciaron Maher is keen to reward Charleise for her consistency and will consider a start in the Tattersall's Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 26. 

"She is coming good at the right time of the year," Maher said. 

"She's got a bit of a Ballarat coat on her, but we'll rectify that before her next start and you never know, she might be en route to a Tiara." 

Charleise was partnered by Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Jye Mcneil and was his only ride at the meeting. 

Maher said that only made McNeil more determined to make it count. 

"He's got his wife and little boy up here and he said he needed to make it a winner to keep the show rolling up here, so well done to him," Maher said. 

Charleise ($6) arrived in the nick of time to score narrowly over Groundswell ($4.40) with Luvoir ($2.90 fav) a close third. 

McNeil believes the mare is still on an upward spiral. 

"She's in fantastic form. The team have her going really well and I don't think we're at the bottom of the tank yet," McNeil said.
