The market came after him and didn't he justify the support!? pic.twitter.com/RxN3qG6SMn
Winning Trainer: Lyn Tolson & Leonie Proctor (Leonie speaking)
"I was sick the whole way through the race. I couldn't cope watching him. But this is a big thrill.
"He's pretty easy going and just goes about his business. We just keep him happy. We were toying with running him over the 1400 metres but he's jad that little bit too long between runs. I'd love to get him out to the 1400 but he keeps showing this great turn-of-foot.
"We'll just take him home and see how he pulls up. It's his first preparation so he's doing a great job. It's Matty's (Cartwright) 100th winner too. That was great.
"We've had some good horses but he's one of those that he's just so easy. Well Sprung has been a good horse for us but he's difficult."
Winning Jockey: Matt Cartwright
"He's going super this horse and I can't believe he keeps winning. Hopefully he can keep progressing.
"He's had a fair while between runs so we kept him fresh. We got a lovely run throughout following the favourite. He travelled beautiful. He really let go like I thought he would. Being the first time down the straight, I thought he'd do that.
"He's a really good story but I can't take credit for the horse. He's tried so hard."
Leigh Jordon on future plans/hopes for Flemington Finals Day:
"Through these race series' that we've got and the finals day on July 3, it really is the big feature of the winter.
"It'd be great to have all the races on that day worth a minimum of $200,000 and over so that it is a real focal point of our winter racing.
"I think most people thought this period are aiming for the finals but having it with a higher profile through the winter, increasing the prizemoney across the day so that the heats lead into finals that are worth a lot more, it gives horses through that period a real focus.
"Also for the punting public, too, these races are pretty good punting races as well. So a Finals Day worth even better prizemoney would be a real highlight for everyone."
