Jockey Adrian Layt Prepares To Return To The Saddle

3 minute read

Injured jockey Adrian Layt is on the mend and hoping to be race riding again next week.

Adrian Layt was dislodged soon after the winning post following his ride on Olmeto in race 5 at Queanbeyan on 15th April when the horse went through the running rail.

"I am planning on returning to race riding on Saturday week [19th June]," Layt said today.

"I received extensive bruising to my thigh and damaged the ligaments in my right knee and ankle.

"I've since finished physio and I am now back at trackwork and the gym, trying to get fit. I also intend to ride in a few trials next week."

Adrian Layt's Riders' Agent is Greg Burke (0407 708 003) - ironically, the name of the race in which he fell was the Greg Burke Management Handicap.
