<Thinks it is a couple of years since he had a city Saturday double>
"It is one of my favourite tracks and they should race here more on a Saturday, shouldn't they.
"The track is bordering on a 7 or 8, I'd say, it has held up beautifully. It was just a good ride. Used that big hill (with a) big, bold galloper.
"I've always wanted to see him up in trip and he's always gone a bit keen but I'd like to get him up in trip and and play the same tactics. He got on his bike early there, which you need to do, and he used that hill very well.
"I think for him to go up in grade he needs to go to 2000 metres. That's what I feel. He does like soft ground (but) he doesn't like it really heavy and that's why I feel that the ground is a bit better than a Heavy 9.
"He's had a good prep. Hasn't had a lot of luck this prep. Last start it looked a poor run but Damian lost his stirrup for half of the race so you have to put a line through that. I'd like to get him to 2000 metres at some stage."
Winning Jockey: Damian Lane
"He was good. Mick has got this horse flying and he's had a really good prep so far. Good to get another win with him today.
"I thought with the scratching that most of the speed had been taken out of the race so I thought I'd be able to get to the front and dictate and that's how it worked out.
Getting to 2000m: "He's got the stamina to but he goes a bit keen. I feel that he'd go a bit bold over 2000 and might be left wanting late. If I could just tell him that he needs to pace himself a bit better then I think we can get him there. He just goes a bit strong in the first half of the race. We'll see."
