Punters Anticipate A Timely Miller Outburst

3 minute read

There is a fair amount of belief that trainer Stephen Miller can go back to back and hold sway with two of his charges at Belmont on Saturday.

Punters have pinned their faith and identified Timely Outburst and Agent Jay getting the result in races three and four respectively.

Timely Outburst has not missed a cheque and can extend her strike rate of three wins and two seconds from five starts in the Morley Growers Market Handicap (1200m).

The Sessions three-year-old won a heap of fans last start when runner-up to Graceful Girl who came out and won the Raconteur Stakes (1400m) a fortnight later.

Timely Outburst jumps from barrier five and continues to have the services of Nicole Hopwood, whose been with the filly since her debut last December.

A $25,000 yearling, Timely Outburst has been backed into $2.30 favoritism from her opening quote of $2.90.

"She's had a bit of an easier week after her last start," Miller told Tabradio.

"On her last run she should be thereabouts for sure.

"She's done well and you'd think she would be competitive.

"Bob's (Peters) horse (Graceful Girl) is pretty clever and the form around her is actually pretty good.

"I've given her a little freshen up and I expect her to go real good."

Stable mate Agent Jay is on the quick turnaround from his desperate second when he tried hard to reel in Puli at 1200m a week ago.

Miller's only concern for the Snippetson gelding is a drop back in distance in the Happy 50th Birthday To Grant McLearie Handicap (1000m).

"He ran a really good race last week and pulled up well," Miller said.

"Dropping back to a 1000 is a little bit against him, but he should be in the firing line all way."

With the claim of Keshaw Dhurun, Agent Jay carries 59.5kg. The four-year-old has drawn ideally in barrier two.

"He can probably lead if he wanted to, but he seems to be kicking on that last little bit with a sit," Miller said.

"The young apprentice has ridden him a few times and knows what to do.

"He's not a top horse, but is very consistent."

Agent Jay has tightened into $2.90 favoritism after $3.10 was on offer.
