Winter the stables' time: "We go missing in spring and autumn but we're happy to get it (this time of year)."
The horse: "We wait for the wet weather. He's funny because once the winter is over he has four months off and this prep it has taken a bit of time to get him into gear.
"Luke said last start that he couldn't have got him any closer and we had a chat before the race and I said that he races best when he's closer. That's his normal racing pattern so Luke said he might give him a tap around the backside going in the gates.
"He was in a much better spot and went on with the job."
What's next: "It probably gets difficult now. His rating jumps up and he's good at this time of year but we'll worry about that soon. He might get out further. He's more relaxed behind the scenes so his pedigree suggests that he might get 2000 metres. I'll see what Luke reckons."
Winning Jockey: Luke Currie
"Chris does a good job with him and picks the time of year to run him and he's found his right race today. His mile form was quite good. He hasn't had many runs at it but he's run well every time. I thought he was a big chance going into today.
"Went a pretty solid tempo and I was a bit concerned that I was dragging those horses up behind me but he's a big tough horse.
"Last time at Sandown he didn't show with the blinkers off that he had that turn-of-foot so I was happy to have a bunny and still get the horses chasing. He did a good job, loves the wet, and there'll be another one in him for sure."
