Champion jockey Craig Williams and a number of Victorian trainers have been forced into isolation following their attendance at Eagle Farm last weekend.

Trainers Ciaron Maher, Peter Moody along with Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young are in isolation pending COVID tests.

Busuttin has been caught up and forced into isolation after Young, who had been in Brisbane looking after their team of horses, returned home to Melbourne.

Moody headed to Eagle Farm last Saturday to watch Incentivise win while Maher watched Away Game also win at the meeting.

The zone that Williams and the trainers were in had turned 'red' with a number of COVID cases in Queensland announced earlier this week.

Areas in Queensland are undergoing a three-day lockdown with the Victorian Government declaring those areas 'red' which caught up Williams and the trainers.

Williams was taken off his rides at Sandown on Wednesday after spending five weeks in Queensland riding at the Winter Carnival.

He partnered Toffane in her Group 1 victories in the Stradbroke Handicap on June 12 and last week in the Tatt's Tiara at Eagle Farm.

Should the status in Queensland be changed to 'orange' Williams may be able to ride at Flemington on Saturday where he has rides in eight of the nine races.
