It has not taken long for Tom Dabernig to have his first runner since leaving the Lindsay Park operation.

With Ben and JD Hayes  now in charge at Lindsay Park, Dabernig decided to branch out on his own with a stable at Warrnambool.

Bellx, formerly trained at Lindsay Park, will be Dabernig's first runner when she runs in the Apiam Animal Health Handicap (2400m) at Bendigo on Thursday.

But that will be dependent on the weather with Dabernig saying the mare would run on a soft track, but if it gets into the heavy range, she will not.

"We're just keeping an eye on the weather," Dabernig said.

"It's a Soft6 at the moment, but if it gets into the heavy range, we probably wouldn't go there.

"The back-up plan is the following Tuesday at Ballarat on the all-weather."

Bellx is a one-time winner from 13 starts and earlier in her career she finished third to Realm Of Flowers in the Group 3 SA Fillies Classic at Morphettville.

The daughter of Rock Hero last lined-up at Sandown on June 30, finishing 10th in a 2100m Fillies & Mares Benchmark 70 handicap.

Bellx is one of 11 horses Dabernig has stabled on Matthew Williams' property awaiting the completion of his stables on-course at Warrnambool.

"She came down after running at Sandown a fortnight ago and she's the more advanced of the group that have arrived so far," Dabernig said.
