Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club and Community TAB have joined forces to raise funds for Variety – The Children’s Charity WA at their race day on Sunday, 25 July.

Community TAB will be matching funds raised on the day for the charity up to $5000. 

Kalgoorlie Boulder Racing Club CEO Brett Snell said the annual fundraising race day had traditionally been an integral part of their community work and among the most successful fundraising events throughout the year. 

"Our race club has maintained a fantastic partnership with Goldfields Variety Charity over several years as one of the most proactive local charities in the Goldfields," Brett said. 

"Every donation is appreciated, including the sizeable amounts such as Community TAB's contribution. 

"Funds will be raised throughout the day through the selling of race naming rights, gate sales and activities such as the pizza throwing competition. All money raised will go directly towards assisting children with a disability or serious illness." 

RWWA Chair Jeff Ovens said the positive effects of the Community TAB program have been extensive for regional WA, with 48 of WA's race clubs based in regional communities. 

"RWWA recognises that race clubs across WA play an important role in their community, contributing both economically and socially, with partnerships like these an example of the strong connection race clubs have within the communities in which they operate," Jeff said.   

"Community TAB is proud to play our part in giving back to the community and many organisations are supported as part of the program."  

The Community TAB dollar matching program began in 2015 and has since raised more than $700,000 for not-for-profit organisations around WA through partnerships with local race clubs.
