We head to Launceston for a huge 10-event card on Sunday night which will see some competitive racing.

Picture: TasRacing

R1 Cleghorn Farm Standardbreds Pace, 2200m

LIKELY LEADER: Fury Dan will look to work across Northern Stride early, with Tactic Stride a query getting very keen first-up.

The first of a huge 10-event card is for the 3YO's. ITZ MONTANA JET (8) was disappointing last time when finishing unplaced, but he did get a bit keen in the run so from a trailing draw he will get a good run through and if running to his best he will be hard to beat. STORMY SANZ (7) has his foot on the till but just can't get a draw, with average luck he will be a major player. FURY DAN (4) was a strong winner two runs back before finishing down the track last week so look for him to push forward and if finding the top will take running down. EMRITES (5) was good last time after doing work outside the speed in a slick last half so with a better trip here will be thereabouts. NORTHERN STRIDE (1) and WRITTEN IN SILK (6) are capable of running into a placing so are a must for the exotic players.

EXOTIC BET: Trifecta 7-8- 1, 3, 4, 6 $20 flexi 500% – 7- 1, 3, 4, 6-8 $10 flexi 250%.

Staking Strategy: TOP PICK: Stormy Sanz (7) will be the better odds so just leaning his way. DANGERS: Itz Montana Jet (8) is the danger along with Emrites (5). ROUGHIE: Northern Stride (1) will run a race. SUGGESTED BET: 4 units to win on STORMY SANZ (7)

R2 Ladbrokes Stakes, 2200m

LIKELY LEADER: Coveffe Hustler will push forward with Juniper and make Iden Gorgeous do some work.

This is for the 4YO and older mares with a rating of 50-64 where IDEN GORGEOUS (6) is looking for six straight wins.  She has shown versatility of late and will need that tonight as there is speed to her inside so will have to do a bit of work. AUSSIE ROCK (8) will find this easier than her past couple and draws to get a soft trip so if the breaks come her way she will figure. GIPSY TREASURE (10) will also find this easier and back to her sex so if she brings her best is capable of winning. VIVID STRIDE (7) comes across from Victoria where she won her past two before a let up. She trialed on Monday only fairly so from the wide draw a place looks best. JUNIPER (4), ROCKINFEELGOOD (11) and MACHS MARETA (12) are all capable of filling a place so have to be included.

EXOTIC BET: Boxed trifecta 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 $30 flexi 50% – 6 – 4, 8, 10, 12 – 4, 8, 10, 12 $12 flexi 100%.

Staking Strategy: TOP PICK: Iden Gorgeous (6) will stick with her but she is not a good thing. DANGERS: Aussie Rock (8) looms as a danger along with Gipsy Treasure (10). ROUGHIE: Juniper (4) can give some cheek. SUGGESTED BET: 2 units to win on AUSSIE ROCK (8) and GIPSY TREASURE (10)

R3 Bevan Lee's Butchery Two Year Old, 1680m

LIKELY LEADER: Lorimertyrrell will be looking to work across those to her inside.

Here we have a race for the 2YO's where we see a field of 11 runners which is good to see. LORIMERTYRRELL (3) is super consistent and gets the draw over her main rivals so if she can take advantage of that and lead and run along at an even tempo, she will make it hard for the back markers. MAGIC FEELING (11) was an easy winner first-up and showed that she will continue to improve with racing but will have to go another level to win. MAYS PLACE (10) is a nice filly who showed enough ability to be a player especially if getting a cart into the race. MAEBEE (8) is a beautifully bred debutante who did win a trial last week, but it was in slow time. Open to a lot of improvement so watch for any market moves. NOTLAUGHINOW (1) showed enough on debut that can see her give a sight at odds as can ROCKNROLL WIZARD (5). Both are a must for the exotics. There a few debutantes WESTERN MAGGY (2), OUTLAW SAMMY (4) and LEFT ON CUE (7) from the Ben Yole stable but have failed to flatter at the trials so prefer to see some form first.

EXOTIC BET: Trifecta 3, 10, 11 – 1, 3, 8, 10, 11 – 1, 3, 8, 10, 11 $36 flexi 100%.

Staking Strategy: TOP PICK: Lorimertyrrell (3) looks the hardest to beat. DANGERS: Magic Feeling (11) is the danger along with Mays Place (10). ROUGHIE: Notlaughinow (1) can run a race at odds. SUGGESTED BET: 3 units to win on LORIMERTYRRELL (3)

R4 Trainers Encouragement Pace, 1680m

LIKELY LEADER: Karalta Invader will be looking to hold Vonns Angel and Kikkimi early.

This is the Trainers encouragement race for the 30-59 rated performers. VONNS ANGEL (4) gets her chance to run a much-improved race as she can push forward early and if rolling to the top will take running down. KIKKIMI (5) will strip much fitter after her first-up run last week and she will also look to go forward early. SHADY STORY (13) was good when resuming but has to overcome a horror draw. MAJOR DAVVIN (9) gets the perfect trailing draw which will allow him to push through and settle handy so will keep coming. KARALTA INVADER (3) is a pacer with plenty of ability who resumes off a handy trial win so will be a major player. STAROFREMBERANCE (6), BOULDER CITY (7), BRIGHTON PRINCE (8) and SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (10) are all capable of running into a placing at odds for the exotic players.

EXOTIC BET: Boxed trifecta 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 13 $40 flexi 33.3%.

Staking Strategy: TOP PICK: Karalta Invader (3) draws well so is the hardest to beat. DANGERS: Vonns Angel (4) is the danger along with Major Davvin (9). ROUGHIE: Kikkimi (5) the best at odds. SUGGESTED BET: 3 units to win on KARALTA INVADER (3) and 2 units to win on KIKKIMI (5)

R5 Lees Orchard Pace, 2200m

LIKELY LEADER: Gotta Good Reason will push forward and can bully his way to the lead.

This is the fast class race of the night where the best runners should come to the fore. HARJEET (9) resumed with a strong effort last week when making up good ground out wide in a slick last half so from his trailing draw he will push through and look to make an early move to get an advantage. YORKSHIRE (8) did everything possible to win last week when beaten by a good horse. He draws inside the second row but will look to get off early and get up on the speed.  BLACKBIRD POWER (7) is very capable when bringing his 'A' game and he did that last time when winning easily so with a repeat effort can figure. GOTTA GOOD REASON (4) hasn't had much luck of late so is due for some and if it comes tonight is a chance at odds. EARL JUJON (5) and NO SPRING SECRETS (10) are both more than capable on their nights so with the right trips can run a place along with DEADLY ASSASSIN (6) who rises in grade but has won his last three.

EXOTIC BET: Trifecta 9- 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 – 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 $20 flexi 100% – 9-8-4, 5, 6, 7, 10 $20 flexi 500% – 9-4, 5, 6, 7, 10-8 $12 flexi 300%.

Staking Strategy: TOP PICK: Harjeet (9) is the hardest to beat. DANGERS: Yorkshire (8) is the danger along with Blackbird Power (7). ROUGHIE: Gotta Good Reason (4) best at odds. SUGGESTED BET: 5 units to win on HARJEET (9)

R6 Jubilee Bakery Stakes, 2200m

LIKELY LEADER: Kuyomi will push forward but will be made work for it if she is to get across.

This is for the 4YO and older performers and it looks a competitive race on paper. KUYOMI (6) was perfectly driven last time leading out then taking a sit before being too quick up the straight. She will look to push forward again and more than likely hold the top. KOSIMO (10) has returned in great fashion and has the draw to push through and from there will look to get into the race and if finding the death seat or close enough on straightening will take plenty of holding out. LORIMERMAJOR (4) is a consistent type who draws inside the main chances so if able to hold that advantage can figure. BETTER AMOUR (5) got close last time when getting up along the pegs so is going well enough to be in the finish and has gate speed if they want to use it. ENDEAVOUR STRIDE (8) over-raced last week but did still battle on ok at the finish so from an inside second row draw will give a sight at odds. RAINING ON RINGO (9) and BOOKER BAY (11) have minor place claims at odds.

EXOTIC BET: Trifecta 6, 10- 6, 10- 4, 5, 8 $24 flexi 400% – 6, 10-4, 5, 8-6, 10, 12 flexi 200%.

Staking Strategy: TOP PICK: Kosimo (10) will be the better value. DANGERS: Kuyomi (6) is the huge danger along with Better Amour (5). ROUGHIE: Endeavour Stride (8) has some hope at odds. SUGGESTED BET: 4 units to win on KOSIMO (10)

R7 Rare Earth Stakes, 2200m

LIKELY LEADER: Iden Forest will be looking to bully his way to the top from Sports Candy.

This is for the 63-74 rated pacers and is a very strong race. MONTANA LAD (6) is racing at the peak of his powers and from the wide draw tonight he will look to slot in as there is speed to his inside and only needs to be close enough to run past his rivals. SPORTS CANDY (1) was arrogant winning last time and comes up with the perfect draw to look to make it a winning hat-trick but will get some pressure if holding up. IDEN FOREST (3) is a free running type so he will make sure there is a solid tempo up front, and he will keep giving. AHA REACTION (10) looked to have his chance last time but if they do run along and he's on his best behaviour, he will be finishing strongly. SON OF RAYSON (2) comes across from South Australia with a handy record and is first-up for the Geoff Smith stable who has a great record with ex-mainlanders so watch for a market move. TAURISI (11), SOMEDAN (12) and THE DUDE (13) are all capable of filling a minor placing at odds.

EXOTIC BET: Trifecta 6- 1, 3, 10 – 1, 2, 3, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 $21 flexi 100% – 6 – 1, 2, 3, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 – 1, 3, 10 $21 flexi 100%.

Staking Strategy: TOP PICK: Montana Lad (6) is the hardest to beat. DANGERS: Sports Candy (1) is a danger along with Iden Forest (3). ROUGHIE: Aha Reaction (10) looks the best at odds. SUGGESTED BET: 4 units to win on MONTANA LAD (6)

R8 Tassie Wash Pace, 2200m

LIKELY LEADER: Pockets of Courage has speed so may look to hold up from Turquoise Stride and Captain Cosmonaut.

The last leg of the quadrella is for the 56-62 rated performers. SCOTLYNN BEACH (9) was good last time and showed he's not far off a win so if he can push through early and then look to get around to the breeze, he will take plenty of holding out. RAMBLEON (13) returns from Victoria where he was ok. He has showed he can sprint quickly with the right cart into the race so look for him to be finishing strongly. CHRISTIAN JAZ (2) is knocking on the door and gets the draw to settle handy. ONE OFF (8) is nearing a win as has been good at his last two so if the breaks come his way from inside the second row, he can win. THE BLACK ASSASSIN (11) and BLACK OPS (12) will both be looking to have the last crack at them out wide so are a must for the exotic players along with CAPTAIN COSMONAUT (5).

EXOTIC BET: Boxed trifecta 8, 9, 11, 12, 13 $30 flexi 50%.

Staking Strategy: TOP PICK: Scotlynn Beach (9) is a bit of value so just leaning his way. DANGERS: One Off (8) looks a danger along with Rambleon (13). ROUGHIE: Black Ops (12) will get out to good odds and has a sneaky chance. SUGGESTED BET: 2 units to win on SCOTLYNN BEACH (9) and ONE OFF (8)

R9 Great Northern Super Crisp Stakes, 2200m

LIKELY LEADER: Stavros the Terror will be looking to work across Lily Rocks early.

This is for the 50-55 rated performers and looks an open affair to assess. MY CELEBRITY (9) was good last time when working early and then battling on well. From the trailing draw he will get a good run through so if saved for the last crack at them will take holding out. HEZ RAZOR SHARP (10) was caught wide in a good last half so it made if hard to make ground and he will find this easier. STAVROS THE TERROR (3) comes across from the Shaky Isles where his form would suggest he is well up to winning this and draws perfectly. EMJAYS BLACK CHIP (5) is always a chance with the right run in transit so has to be included along with the likes of LILY ROCKS (1), STONE CRACKER (8), TAXI METER (11) and GUIDI DA SIENA (12).

Staking Strategy: TOP PICK: Stavros the Terror (3) looks hardest to beat from the draw. DANGERS: My Celebrity (9) looks a danger along with Hez Razor Sharp (10). ROUGHIE: Emjays Black Chip (5) is the best at odds. SUGGESTED BET: 3 units to win on STAVROS THE TERROR (3) and HEZ RAZOR SHARP (10)

R10 Carlton Draught Pace, 2200m

LIKELY LEADER: Squatter Shannon will be looking to push forward with Stylish Trend.

The last of the night is for the 30-49 rated performers. IFITSTOBEITSUPTOME (12) was good last week when looking the winner until run down late so from his back row draw, he will be looking to get a three-wide cart into the race. JIMI SANZ (11) is getting close to a win but will need the breaks to come his way at the right time. ONEOFTHELADS (13) will be looking to follow those two into the race and he has the speed to run past them if they go too hot in front. STYLISH TREND (3), MACH CHARM (6), SQUATTER SHANNON (7) and KEEP PLAYING (8) are all going ok so have to be kept safe and are a must include for the exotic players.

EXOTIC BET: Trifecta 11, 12- 11, 12- 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 13 $24 flexi 200% – 11, 12 – 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 13 – 11 12 $18 flexi 150%.

Staking Strategy: TOP PICK: Ifitstobeitsuptome (12) looks the hardest to beat. DANGERS: Jimi Sanz (11) looks the danger along with Oneofthelads (13). ROUGHIE: Squatter Shannon (7) can run a race at odds. SUGGESTED BET: 3 units to win on IFITSTOBEITSUPTOME (12) and JIMI SANZ (11)
