Unsuccessful in 12 months, Parlophone will chase a second Lightning Stakes win in Adelaide.

The Mick Prince and Michael Kent Jr stable will be hoping a return to Morphettville will bring out the best in Parlophone .

The three-year-old daughter of I Am Invincible will be aiming for back-to-back victories in the Listed Lightning Stakes (1050m) on Saturday.

A filly of immense talent, Parlophone can also be her own worst enemy by putting on mini 'rodeo' acts coming out of the barrier.

It nearly cost her a race at Sandown prior to her victory in the Lightning Stakes, which happens to be her most recent success.

Kent Jr said Parlophone is enigmatic, but she is also a filly of ability and the training combination is hopeful of a return to the form that saw her impress last year.

Parlophone has not raced since finishing 11th in the Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes at The Valley in February.

"She didn't come up last time for one reason or another, but we think she's going super," Kent Jr said.

"She's had three jump-outs at home. She's done plenty of work. She's fit, she's muscled up, she looks well, she's sound, clean winded.

"We can't do much more for her at home. She's going great on the track, but we do need to see her go well on race day."

Kent said the stable wanted Parlophone up and running early to hopefully have a fitness edge leading into the spring ahead of the better-quality mares' races.

The Lightning Stakes is restricted to two and three-year-olds at set-weights and Parlophone carried 52kg in her win last year and rises to 57kg this time around.

Parlophone provided Jessica Eaton, who is currently tied in the South Australian metropolitan jockeys' premiership with Todd Pannell, her first stakes race win, but the filly will be ridden by Kayla Crowther this time around.
