Nick Ryan is looking forward to the first feature race of the season when he runs Regardsmaree up the straight at Flemington

An addition to training ranks at Flemington in April, Ryan ended the season with a winner at The Valley on Saturday with Mahamedeis then followed up with the first city flat race of the season at Sandown on Sunday with Mynumerouno scoring.

But Ryan is looking forward to seeing Regardsmaree lining up in the Group 3 Aurie's Star Handicap (1200m) on Saturday.

Regardsmaree has raced six times for Ryan recording four victories since transferring from Henry Dwyer and added the son of So You Think has had a faultless preparation leading up to his return.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing him back," Ryan said.

"He'll have a gallop on Tuesday and he'll be good to go."

Ryan said Regardsmaree has had a couple of jump-outs at Flemington to prepare for Saturday's return.

He said the five days of no racing last week which also resulted in no trials or jump-outs had not affected Regardsmaree's preparation.

With jump-outs on the Polytrack on Monday, Ryan said he preferred to trial his horses on the turf.

"I probably would have trialled him last Friday had there been jump-outs, but I knew leading up to it and that's why he had a trial the previous week," Ryan said.

"I adapted to it, so I don't think it will make a massive difference for him anyway."

Winners on Saturday and Sunday have coincided with Ryan also being back riding trackwork following surgery to repair a hernia.

"I'm back to being 100 per cent," Ryan said.

"I'm really happy and feel much better for it."

Regardsmaree is one of 20 nominations for Saturday's 1200m dash up the Flemington straight with other notable entries being Johnny Get Angry, La Mexicana and Order Of Command.
