The winners at the annual Coolgardie Cup on Sunday will include the Boulder Scouts Group and Kalgoorlie Lions Club, thanks to racetrack fundraising efforts.

The Coolgardie Racing Club will be raising money for the local community groups on course and has teamed up with Community TAB, who will match funds up to $2000.

Coolgardie Racing Club Secretary Jan Glasson said the long-standing partnership with Community TAB offered excellent opportunities for country race clubs to assist groups and charities in their local areas.

"Both the Boulder Scouts Group and the Kalgoorlie Lions Club are heavily involved in the community and provide ongoing support, particularly for children in the area," Jan said.

"The Coolgardie Cup Day is a great family day out. We will be offering a variety of free children's activities, with both groups attending on the day with collection tins and assisting with activities."

RWWA Chair Jeff Ovens said the positive effects of the Community TAB program have been extensive for regional WA, with 48 of WA's race clubs based in regional communities.

"RWWA recognises that race clubs across WA play an important role in their community, contributing both economically and socially, with partnerships like these an example of the strong connection race clubs have within the communities in which they operate," Jeff said.

"Community TAB is proud to play our part in giving back to the community and many organisations are supported as part of the program."

The Community TAB dollar matching program began in 2015 and has since raised more than $700,000 for not-for-profit organisations around WA through partnerships with local race clubs.
