Racecourse : Morphettville (Australia).

RACE 1 - 12:12PM Australia's Legacy Week Appeal (29 August – 4 September) Handicap (1000 METRES)

Cracking race to start the day.  SMOKIN' VAL is a mare with a lot of upside. She was luckless through the carnival in May running 2nd behind Muntaseera in the Redelva, 5th behind Beau Rossa in the Tobin Bronze and 4th behind Brooklyn Hustle in the Proud Miss. She's trialled well, is above average and the $3.50 she opened didn't last long. LARKHAM is a nice horse with three wins from his nine starts and he won two of his past three before a break. He maps well from gate four and has solid appeal. WINNING WEATHER is a nice mare who was a good price when she returned to her best last time after a luckless Caulfield run. SPANISH HEIRLOOM is a fast mare who will be firing forward from a wide gate and must be respected.
SELECTIONS: 6. SMOKIN' VAL, 4. Larkham, 1. Winning Weather

RACE 2 - 12:47PM Caesarstone Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

INEBRIATING was a drifter on debut at Sandown behind Qeyaady but comes to Adelaide on the back of a very smart Flemington jump out win when she cruised up on speed and had rivals chasing. This looks a very winnable race from the inside gate. PHILONIZE trialled very well before debuting in the Dequetteville Stakes behind Cloudy. She was put away and again blitzed rivals in a Murray Bridge trial recently and has jumped out well. She has speed to burn and shapes a danger. HANABI has been good running second her past two, the latest behind Keep Reading. If the speed horses run each other into the ground, she's a big threat. KUNGKA MARU has only been placed once in five starts but his form has been around some handy horses and the Balfour stable is going well. KEIICHI on debut for Henry Dwyer and is unwanted in betting
SELECTIONS: 11. INEBRIATING, 12. Philonize, 10. Hanabi

RACE 3 - 1:22PM Furphy Handicap (1550 METRES)

Another good race. NONAME LANE is going super and was too good for Extra Mile three starts back before being runner-up behind Picargo. He led throughout to beat Seiners Express last time and maps well from the draw. He should take beating again. Victorian CABINHO has a good record and comes here chasing a third straight win after racing on speed to beat Brawl at Bendigo. He maps well and is going to be fighting out the finish. PERFECT ROUTE should be ready to fire third up from a break here. He was OK behind Behemoth in the Spring Stakes before being beaten 3.4 lengths behind Tommy Blue last week. He has a big weight but also has upside. WINGS OF PASTRAMI is ready to win and was good behind Zoist before another solid effort running third behind Noname Lane last start. SIGN OF USSURI was runner-up behind Regalo Di Gaetano three starts back and should strip fitter for one run back form a spell when he finished off well at Bendigo. MOTELL won well beating Frankie Pinot two runs back and then again OK behind Classy Joe last time.
SELECTIONS: 4. NONAME LANE, 5. Cabinho, 1. Perfect Route

RACE 4 - 1:57PM Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (Heat of NJT Series) (1400 METRES)

CROWN MINT ran a slashing race first-up from a spell behind Yulong Code before working home well as favourite behind Extra Time last start, The 1400m should suit and he's going to get a gun run from an inside gate with the Ben Price claim. GIVE ME TEN was scratched at the gates last week. She was on speed winning at Pakenham in January and February and can make the speed and give them something to chase here. WILD IMAGINATION got back and didn't make an impression behind Enchantingly last time but was runner-up behind Winning Weather here back in November and should be thereabouts. EQUAL BALANCE must be considered from a middle gate.
SELECTIONS: 1. CROWN MINT, 7. Give Me Ten, 8. Wild Imagination

RACE 5 - 2:32PM Spring Racing Carnival at Morphettville - Oct. 9 - Nov. 6 Handicap (1950 METRES)

MELODY MAN comes off a good win over Another Free Glass. He's always given the impression he'll like a trip like this and he maps well from barrier five. FACEMASK has only been out of a place three times in 12 starts and was a dominant five length winner at Warrnambool last time. He draws a wide gate but is sure to run well. NATIVE BLUE was a good winner over Nakheel at Murray Bridge back in class and does look well over the odds from a good barrier. MIGHTY OASIS is coming off a maiden hurdle placing but has the blinkers on and the Bobbin stable were successful last time they came to SA. He opened at $51 and was quickly backed in $23.
SELECTIONS: 3. MELODY MAN, 1. Facemask, 7. Native Blue

RACE 6 - 3:12PM Sydney Robert McDonald Memorial Handicap (1300 METRES)

Good race. ETHICAL SOLUTION was given a decent hit-out in a recent Morphettville jump-out. Her form reads well for a race like this, beating Street Icon at Hobart back in February before chasing home classy mare Still A Star in the Group 3 Vamos Stakes. She has won fresh and will appreciate some give in the ground if we get the rain. LEFT HAND MAN loves this track and trip and was too good for Mr Marathon Man at Murray Bridge last time out. He is going to get every chance from the inside gate. ONE MORE JACK is unbeaten at two runs this trip and he's trialled since he missed the kick early behind the big guns Behemoth and Beau Rossa in the Spring Stakes. If he jumps and finds the top, they'll be hard pressed catching him. ECUMENICAL is the horse to follow out of this race, she is a winner fresh but look for her to progress towards better races in the spring. MAGNA BELLA got warm late first-up and should appreciate getting out in trip. MAGNETIC EDGE has been in great form for the Hickmott/Riggs stable and was a good winner here last start but does drop back in trip.
SELECTIONS: 4. ETHICAL SOLUTION, 1. Left Hand Man, 3. One More Jack

RACE 7 - 3:52PM Dominant Handicap (1550 METRES)

TURFITT came off the speed to win well on the outer track two starts back and wasn't far away behind Noname Lane last time. She should get a good run from a middle gate and be right in the finish. ANOTHER FREE GLASS is a progressive type who won well at Balaklava and then followed that with a solid effort behind Melody Man. He maps well from gate two and has each-way appeal. NAKHEEL is bursting to break through running 2nd at her past two. She came from well back behind Wurlies Lastchance at Murray Bridge before she led and kept finding when beaten behind Native Blue. She's going to be in the mix. UNFAIR DISMISSAL comes back to SA and has been racing well in Victoria. He was runner-up at Sandown with the light weight three starts back and good again when he had market support behind The Brumby last time. AMMO LOCO has won two of his past three at Gawler, while APACHE STAR comes off a good win at Murray Bridge.
SELECTIONS: 2. TURFITT, 4. Another Free Glass, 9. Nakheel

RACE 8 - 4:32PM Grand Syndicates - Congratulations Behemoth On Another Group 1 Win Handicap (1000 METRES)

Ryan Balfour has three solid chances here. ALL IN WAR could be the pick of them, she is finding it hard to break through in SA, but her form is also impossible to knock. She does have a sticky gate, but this certainly looks like a winnable race. FIGHTING MCLAREN comes off a Murray Bridge maiden win beating Utah Joe but draws to get a nice run. A BIT RACEY is the third of his chances and has two trials under her belt, her last run before a break behind Chill With Teejay was OK for this. Inside gate and Jason Holder to ride also big ticks. FREE WILMA got through heavy conditions to win at her SA debut and then come from a long way back to beat all but Love Magic home last time out. She draws a middle gate and has solid appeal in a weak race. STRIKE THE NIGHT draws poorly but must be given some thought.
SELECTIONS: 2. ALL IN WAR, 10. Free Wilma, 7. A Bit Racey

RACE 9 - 5:10PM Chalk Hill Handicap (1250 METRES)

ENCHANTINGLY was impressive leading throughout to win smartly first-up from a spell. She maps perfectly from gate four and is going to be very hard to beat again. PICARGO is the danger, drawn the inside has a good turn of speed. He should get the perfect run and gets in here very well at the weights with the Ben Price claim. BONES faces a tricky gate but was well fancied here behind Lohn Ranger last time and must be given another chance. KONG draws wide but should be ready to peak third up from a spell here. ARAY OF SUNSHINE had solid market support and was OK behind Pimm's Party last time. WURLIES LASTCHANCE looks big odds from a good barrier, she was massive odds winning at Murray Bridge and backed that up with a more than handy effort against the big guns in the Spring Stakes when $101.
SELECTIONS: 6. ENCHANTINGLY, 2. Picargo, 7. Kong
