Top trainer Michael Hickmott is excited about what lies ahead for exciting three-year-old Taunting.
Michael Hickmott will know if the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas is on the agenda when Taunting makes his Victorian debut on the back of a short break at Moonee Valley on Saturday with Brett Prebble booked to ride.
Crowned Adelaide's leading trainer at last weekend's Racing SA Industry Awards, Hickmott didn't hesitate when declaring Taunting the most exciting horse he's put a saddle on.
"By a significant margin,'' Hickmott said on RSN's Racing Pulse.
"Regardless of his ability which he's showing us, the best part of the horse is his mind.
"He's the most sound minded horse you could ever put a bridle on, he's pretty bomb proof, nothing phases him,'' he said.
Hickmott said he was never leaving the 2020 Melbourne Inglis Yearling Sale without the son of Brazen Beau.
"I vividly remember looking at him for the first time,'' Hickmott said.
"I think I went back and looked at him four times. I went into the ring with the mindset "buy what I want and deal with the consequences tomorrow".
"Rarely does a horse like this come along…. He's got so much upside,'' he said.
