Moree Winners - Tips For Sunday, 5th September 2021

3 minute read

Tips and race by race preview by Brad Gray for Moree.

Race 1 - 12:55PM NATIONAL JOCKEYS TRUST MAIDEN PLATE (1300 METRES)

7. Kegstar had no luck in the run home last start at Tamworth, finishing a disguised eighth. The mare's effort prior was a fifth behind Ezekeil also at Tamworth, which stacks up for this. Gets her chance to break through.

Dangers: 9. More Oomph started $3.70 or shorter in two of her four runs for Scott Singleton and looks well placed her first up. 5. Global Challenge did more than enough in her first run for Darren Egan and jumps straight out to 1300m.

How to play it: Kegstar WIN ($7.50 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: ODDS

Race 2 - 1:30PM SECRETARY'S CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE (1600 METRES)

Not sure where the performance came from but going to trust 10. Kadashi to repeat what she did first up. She went straight to the front over the mile and clocked faster time than the Class 3 race at the same meeting. Plus the runner up has since franked the form.

Dangers: 11. Loose Buttons has a very wide draw to overcome but her form is very strong for this including a last start second to Ita, who has won again at Wyong since. 6. Blue Velvet could be a sharp improver back onto a dry track and the blinkers go on.

How to play it: Kadashi EACH WAY ($8.50 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 3 - 2:05PM OFF THE TRACK NSW MAIDEN HANDICAP (950 METRES)

Looks limited chances in this race with 9. Cupid's Kiss clearly the best of those with exposed race form. She was posted wide first up at Scone before clearing out with two others to run third again at Scone. Draws well. Hard to beat.

Dangers: Debutant 8. Charged Teke looks the main threat off a promising trial at Muswellbrook for Scott Singleton. Went to the line under a hold and was inconvenienced late. Draws barrier 1.

How to play it: Cupid's Kiss WIN ($2.25 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 4 - 2:41PM PRESIDENT'S CLASS 3 HANDICAP (950 METRES)

9. Nicola looks well suited in this back to 950m where she'll be able to use her high cruising speed to give a sight. Felt the pinch late last start over 1200m but that was a deeper race than this. Won over 800m first up this campaign. Hard to catch.

Dangers: 3. Tango Stepz is the class runner but disappointed last start. There are certainly more wins ahead for 2. Denace but want to see her first up before reassessing second up. The barrier hurts 7. Pass The Card.

How to play it: Nicola WIN ($6.50 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: ODDS

Race 5 - 3:20PM TREASURER'S CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

11. Miss Parmigiana didn't fire a shot at Gunnedah last start but if you overlook that failure, her two runs prior were great for a race like this. She hit the line to be beaten 2.8L by Empowerment and fought out the finish at Tamworth first up.

Dangers: 4. Kiss And Tell has always been a capable mare the problem being the gap between her best and her worst. 10. Noble Pluck was run down last start but was four weeks between runs. The quick turnaround should see him present fitter.

How to play it: Miss Parmigiana EACH WAY ($21 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 6 - 3:55PM WESTPAC RESCUE HELICOPTER SERVICE MOREE TOWN PLATE (950 METRES)

9. Kensington Kid had no luck the last time we saw him at the races. His form prior to that was very good. Hasn't fired first up in the past but from barrier 1 over 950m, you wouldn't think fitness will be an excuse for him being beaten. Each way.

Dangers: 6. Fortnite ran his rivals into the ground last start over 1000m holding off the heavily backed Foxstorm. There's even less depth here. If he lands in front again, he may very well warrant the odds on quote.

How to play it: Kensington Kid EACH WAY ($13 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 7 - 4:35PM STEPHEN SPARKE JEWELLERS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

5. Silent General worked home nicely first up at Muswellbrook in a race won by Tinka's Lad, with Previso second, that should prove a good reference for this. That was five weeks ago but maps to settle closer and if he can improve off that he should prove hard to beat.

Dangers: 2. Scout also brings Previso form, running home strongly over 1200m at Tamworth last start. Another win is close for the five-year-old. In such an even race, always wary of the most lightly race. That's the untapped 9. Suvero here.

How to play it: Silent General EACH WAY ($10 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 8 - 5:09PM ORICA MOREE CUP (1400 METRES)

The form of 3. Ecker Road doesn't look like much on paper but it's a little deceptive, particularly his last start fifth when tightened late going to the line largely untested. He finished alongside 14. Vertical who is hard in the market here and gets a senior jockey. Good roughie.

Dangers: 2. Rich And Shameless is a last start winner at Mudgee which shapes as a key form reference for this. 11. Mo's Glory is back to 1400m but will appreciate getting onto a firm surface.

How to play it: Ecker Road EACH WAY ($21 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT
