Winning Trainer: Kerry Parker
On underestimating this horse: "There are plenty of supporters out there. It was a good tough win. At the top of the straight I thought he was going to pick him up a lot better than he did but credit to the inside horse who kept kicking. My bloke had a little bit of help from Nash has stuck his head out on the line. When he popped out with 300m to go I was pretty confident he would run over the top of him. It went down to the dot."
On the future (George Main option): "I'd say so. I think that is where you can probably work out the rest of your preparation from there. There will be a few more good ones in that. Absolutely thrilled for Richard Johnson. He's bred some good horses but to race one. He'd be at home bouncing around his loungeroom."
On further improvement: "I think there is little bit of improvement left in him. He'd need to. He has to keep stepping up. It's always good to get one under the belt early in the prep."
Winning Jockey: Nash Rawiller
On picking up the leader: "He's been going well Riodini. I really wanted to ride him last start at Hawkesbury. I thought at the 250m we've got him, we've got him, we've got him but then he just kept picking up. Riodini just being one of Gais and being so fit. But full credit to my bloke. Glen Boss told me a month ago this horse is really a horse of the future. He didn't feel he'd really fulfilled his potential and I think he just showed his qualities then. He can go onto better things from here."
On further improvement: "He's had a really good blow. They rolled along. He was in a perfect spot. We then had to chase from the 550m which is never easy to do here. If you can suck up for an extra 100m it makes a big difference to you. Full credit to him, he's a very good horse and a great thrill to win on him."
Beaten Jockeys:
Hugh Bowman (Cascadian): "I was pleased with his effort and disappointed with the result."
Tim Clark (Nancho): "He just got it all wrong. Over-raced badly."
Kerrin McEvoy (Shared Ambition): "Lovely first up run. He will enjoy a bit further."
Regan Bayliss (Master Of Wine): "Just got into a nice rhythm away from that bad part of the track in the three wide lane. Montefilia gave us a good enough cart up. He just hit a flat spot. He really got going the last 100m but he is looking for further now."
Kathy O'Hara (Selino): "A stayer resuming. Outsprinted there this afternoon but I'm sure he will take lots of improvement."
Tom Sherry (Attorney): "Stayer first time out. Really good run. His last furlong was his best and will improve from the run."
Sam Clipperton (Order Again): "Not a bad run. Probably just needs a little break."
Robbie Dolan (Fun Fact): "Very good run. Just looking for further now."
Rachel King (Riodini): "Massive run. He's definitely back in form."
James McDonald (Kukeracha): "Boxed on well."
Jason Collett (She's Ideel): "Couldn't quicken with them when they went. Just looking for further."
Josh Parr (Montefilia): "What a beautiful mare. Returned in nice condition."
