The one-time favourite for the Group 1 Thousand Guineas will miss the race due to a leg injury.

Argentia pulled-up lame following her eighth behind stablemate Zouzarella in the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) at The Valley last Saturday.

That followed a debut win over Viviane and Invincible Caviar over 1100m at Flemington in June and when nominations closed for the Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield next month, the filly was installed top fancy with TAB.

On Thursday, Argentia's trainers Anthony and Sam Freedman announced on social media the filly had been sent for a spell.

"Argentia has been ruled out for the remainder of the spring carnival," the trainers posted on Twitter.

"She pulled up lame from Saturday's race so will head to the paddock for a spell. We look forward to seeing her back in the autumn."

Following the impressive victory in the Atlantic Jewel, Zouzarella has been pushed to the top of betting for the Thousand Guineas and is now the $4 top elect from Mac N Cheese.
