BEST BET: BALLYNORA (Race 3)

EACH-WAY: TINADALI (Race 6)

VALUE: TULLY'S GOLD (Race 4)

RACE 1 - 12:12PM Wills & Daniel Handicap (Heat 5 Rebel Raider Series) (1100 METRES)

KARACASU has a big weight but he's a smart horse who is sure to targeting some better races. He went to the paddock after placings in both the Breeders Stakes behind Cloudy and G3 David Coles behind Heresy. MAGIC MAX looks an improver here, back to 1100m is better after he was well beaten at Caulfield first-up. His Caulfield run in back in May was very good and he'll be in the finish. HANABI looks the next best coming off a good win over Philonize and she maps perfectly from barrier two.

SELECTIONS: 1. KARACASU, 2. Magic Max, 3. Hanabi

RACE 2 - 12:47PM Fleurieu Milk Company Handicap (1200 METRES)

SO YOU CAN strips fitter for his first run back form a spell, he's back slightly in distance here but has competed against much better horses and is going to be hard to beat. PREAKNESS was good winning first-up in Australia before he was beaten 4.1 lengths behind Magnetic Edge. He draws out but looks a leading hope again. ROCK HARBOUR was good making ground form a long way back behind Magnetic Edge and is more than capable with the right run in this class. MAYAN showed enormous potential early on and was a good Ballarat winner two starts back. THRILL KILL has a handy record and was a beaten favourite at Penola last time but has a win and a second from his two starts here. GOT MY THRILLS is a former Queenslander on debut for Travis Doudle.

SELECTIONS: 4. SO YOU CAN, 6. Preakness, 7. Rock Harbour

Race 3 - 1:22PM Terry Howe Printing Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

BALLYNORA ran well finishing 5th behind See You In Spring in the Listed Without Fear here back in May. She looked very sharp winning a recent Murray Bridge trial and should take some beating here. ITALIAN VIKING had big wraps and jumped an odds-on favourite at his debut when he covered ground and race greenly in the straight when beaten by Self Sufficient here. He should be right in the finish. HOPON HARY was a nice effort on debut. He was one paced before the turn but ran through the line strongly behind Hanabi. The bigger track should suit, and he'll take plenty of benefit from the run. BOSS PAN was well back to run favourite at Sale on debut but was plain. He's now with Michael Hickmott and must be respected. YEELANNA jumped out well before her debut when she had market support, got a long way back and ran on well behind Fighting McLaren. IN THE DARKNESS trialled well behind Speak No Eagle but draws wide.

SELECTIONS: 12. BALLYNORA, 4. Italian Viking, 6. Hopon Harry

RACE 4 - 2:00PM Spring Racing Carnival at Morphettville - Oct. 9 - Nov. 6 Handicap (1050 METRES)

Open race. TULLY’S GOLD has three wins and four seconds from his nine starts and went for a spell after running down the track behind Lope De Wolf back in February. He draws out wide but should be right in the mix here after two trials to bring his fitness forward and is value. Stablemate LARKHAM stuck on strongly first-up from a spell behind Huffington. His second-up record is sound, and he should be thereabouts. He's had good support early in betting. HUFFINGTON was very good beating Smokin' Val and has a good record with five wins from 11 starts. She has a big weight but must be respected. LA VITA was good behind Magic Phantom last time, she draws an inside gate. RUSTY HALO is chasing his fourth win in succession and was too good for The Publikin last time at Murray Bridge, he draws out but must be respected. INDIAN GAZELLE beat home all but So Say Angel last time out and that form was franked at Balaklava on Wednesday.

SELECTIONS: 4. TULLY'S GOLD, 6. Larkham, 1. Huffington

Race 5 - 2:37PM Quayclean Handicap (1200 METRES)

VONGOLE was well backed and closed late behind Tommy Blue here last time. He meets the winner two kilograms better at the weights and should go close. TOMMY BLUE was impressive first-up in SA when he rode the speed and fought off his rivals. This looks a similar race and he's going to be in the finish despite a wide gate. ECHO BOOMER looks nicely placed here down in the weights from an inside barrier. She's placed at three of five first-up run and has form in stronger grade. She's more affective over further but looks big odds from a good gate. EXTRA MILE is going super and made ground behind Lombardo last time. ROCK THE RING was well backed first-up from a spell behind Diesel 'N' Dust at Ballart, he maps well from barrier four and was placed twice in Melbourne last campaign. LAKE’S FOLLY made good late ground behind Tommy Blue last time, she maps well from the good gate and has never missed a placed in four starts here.

SELECTIONS: 4. VONGOLE, 3. Tommy Blue, 9. Echo Boomer

Race 6 - 3:17PM Schild Estate Handicap (2000 METRES)

TINANDALI brings some handy Victorian form here after running fourth behind Ghodeleine at Sandown last time. He's a winner over the 2000m, the Maher/Eustace team is flying, and he maps perfectly from barrier four. In-form local MELODY MAN  hasn't done a lot wrong recently winning his past two here. The step up to 2000m appeals and he's going to be fighting out the finish. EXALTED AMBITION is another in great form chasing three wins on end and was too good for Aberlady last time. He draws wide but gets in well after the claim and must be respected. HINCHPIN steps up in trip after a good win last week at the mile. His form has been solid, and he should go close. GALAHAD GURU finished off smartly behind Hinchpin last week and jumps up in trip. His form last preparation was good, and he has solid appeal at double figure odds. SMILING ASSASSIN is going well but drops back in trip and this looks a touch harder, UNDERSTATEMENT is another who steps up in class but has been well found at big odds early in betting.

SELECTIONS: 2. TINANDALI, 6. Melody Man, 7. Galahad Guru

Race 7 - 3:57PM Karin Bradbrook Happy 50th Handicap (1600 METRES)

CASTLE OF KINGS looks the one to beat here. He was well backed at his first two runs back before dropping class and bolting in at Gawler last time. This is harder but he has upside and can win again. SO BENE finished off strongly behind Fight For Freedom last time and has appeal from an inside gate. JAAMINT is racing in good fashion and tried hard behind Moscow Red last time. She draws out but has each-way appeal. GIVE ME TEN was good when runner-up behind Crown Mint last time and was a Pakenham winner five starts back. RAPID RAISER made good ground last time behind Fight For Freedom and is worth some thought. EXALTED FIRE has been around the mark but draws poorly.

SELECTIONS: 5. CASTLE OF KINGS, 13. So Bene, 4. Jaamint

Race 8 - 4:35PM W H Wylie Handicap (1100 METRES)

KEMALPASA is the class factor the top, he's got 62kg and his first-up record is sound. The inside gate gives him a big advantage here, but he usually improves second-up into his campaign but will take some gunning down. MORVADA is another Group performed horse who looks well weighted under the circumstances. His best form is over 1400m-1600m, and he has never won in nine first-up starts but he will be forward and making his own luck. TERBIUM has a very good fresh record and has jumped out well, he hasn't raced since the Matrice Stakes. Will Clarken has a major hand. HE’S A BALTER is flying this campaign and comes off a Caulfield win, his fourth win from his past five starts. STREET TOUGH has already been specked after opening well over the odds. He jumped favourite in the Mildura Cup two runs back and then got well back at Flemington. The interesting runner is SAVS FINALE, a former Tasmanian who has won his past three and is first-up for the stable. LAKHANI ROSE  is another who is massive odds but her best would be in the finish. PARLAPHONE has been good at both runs here in good company and SPECIALISM has trialled well and jumped out nicely for this.

SELECTIONS: 1. KEMALPASA, 6. Street Tough, 7. Terbium

RACE 9 - 5:10PM Grand Syndicates - Race with Team Grand Handicap (1100 METRES)

The market has this race $6 the field and almost impossible to find a standout. MAGIC PHANTON has the best record in the race and gets in OK after the claim. He was a good winner over La Vita two runs back and wasn't beaten far behind Howl last week. ALLURING GRACE won a Benalla maiden in January and wasn't far away at Sandown last time out. ALL IN WAR has been threatening to win a race for a while, her latest was a hard watch when she never got momentum at the right time. WURLIES LASTCHANCE was a blowout at big odds three starts back, ran OK in the Spring Stakes and then battled behind Enchantingly last time. There are also four last-start winners – RANGER FRANK, RITORNO, ASTON RAPOVA and WILD TYCOON. It's almost a field job for the last leg of the quaddie.

SELECTIONS: 1. MAGIC PHANTOM, 6. All In War, 7. Alluring Grace
