Winning Trainer: Joe Pride

On the run: ""Nash was happy not to cross Nature Strip. But that is the strength of this horse and it's been there to see in a few of his starts. Like the day he beat Nature Strip in the Challenge and again today he is just that little bit versatile."

On the horse: "He's a fast horse that doesn't have to lead. A lot of horses when they lead, it gets taken away from them and they basically give it up. But this horse just hangs tough and that's what Nature Strip hates about him. Nature Strip is going to have nightmares about this horse. Eduardo is seriously relentless, he is a ripper, a great sprinter."

Worried in running?: "Yes I was a bit worried. But that is my horse's style and you must remember with that you are taking other horses out of their comfort zone. Gytrash is a seasoned campaigner and he snuck in there, his run was really good but something was entitled to finish off when you have gone that quick."

Now to the Everest?: "This sets him up beautifully for The Everest. He will barrier trial and he will be ready."

Happy with the win: "Just pride – honestly so proud of the horse and my team. As a trainer, you wear your hearts on your sleeve and when your horse performs at that level you are just proud of what they have done. He's a real streetfighter."

Winning Jockey: Nash Rawiller

On not getting it all his way: "Definitely not. He ran the sectionals early. I stayed out a little bit, just out of where the ground is chopping out now. Probably allowed Nature Strip to really flow up inside me. I never thought I was a chance until the 100m. It was a great effort by Joe to get him here today to be able to have a run like that with four weeks in mind. It was a bloody good training effort and the horse was just magnificent over the last 100m, very strong."

On the last bit: "He was going away the last 100m. He was very strong late. We've always felt 1200m was going to be good. The thing is he can relax now. With this shifty track I was pretty happy to make them run a bit early."

On Everest confidence: "Well better than ever. Before I beat Nature Strip here last time that he could be right in the race and probably did the wrong thing jumping off him last year but he's a different horse now. He's the furnished product and the real deal.

Beaten Jockeys:

James McDonald (Nature Strip): "Super run. Really happy with him."

Jason Collett (Gytrash): "Chased the speed. Stayed in and it got a bit tight late."

Josh Parr (Masked Crusader): "They went very fast. He was a long way off them but nice improvement to come."

Tim Clark (Rothfire): "I was rapt with that performance from Rothfire. He hadn't had a run for a long time. The track is deteriorating. Obviously there was plenty of pressure on so he can only improve off it."

Hugh Bowman (Lost And Running): "Difficult run which cost me."

Rachel King (Handle The Truth): "Huge run. He's ready for the Kosciuszko."

Robbie Dolan (Adelong): "She has gone really well. If she can just get into a race where she can win she will be very competitive. She's gone great."
