Tony and Calvin McEvoy saw the right Star Of Chaos back in the winners stall at Geelong.
The Tony and Calvin Mcevoy-trained Star Of Chaos has bounced back from a disappointing Sandown display to claim the honours at Geelong.
Star Of Chaos was on her best behaviour in the DMB Contracting Handicap (1343m) at Geelong on Wednesday, leading throughout to score.
After an on-pace victory at Ballarat when resuming, Star Of Chaos met with support at Sandown on September 8 but bungled the start before finishing fifth behind the highly regarded Linas Legend.
It was a different story on Wednesday when the Zoustar filly jumped smartly and Dean Holland was able to amble to the lead and set the tempo.
Star Of Chaos ($4.40) held off Magnus Bellagio ($20) by a long-neck with the $3.90 favourite Vitruvius a further 1-½ lengths away third.
Holland partnered Star Of Chaos to win at Ballarat but rode runner-up Fortunate Kiss at Sandown and noticed Star Of Chaos was in a "mood" prior to that race.
"But today she jumped to the front, pricked the ears and did it pretty easily," Holland said.
Calvin McEvoy said the stable wanted to be positive on Star Of Chaos following her victory at Ballarat.
"Dean had confidence in her," McEvoy said.
"She was certainly on empty late. She's not an overly big filly, but she's very athletic and her work was very good, and she won her maiden impressively.
"We were left a little dumbfounded with her last run, so it was good to see her bounce back for a good ownership group.
"We'll see how she comes through it. It's a pretty tough time of year to be in, but she might take a bit of improvement out of today, so we'll look for other races and keep her against her grade.
"She's a very nice filly going forward."
