Heavy rain forces meeting switch

3 minute read

Heavy rain in the north of Victoria has resulted in the transfer of the Tatura meeting on Friday.

Echuca will now host the race meeting in Victoria on Friday after heavy rain made the Tatura course unsafe for racing.

Racing Victoria made the change on Thursday following a track inspection earlier in the morning.

More than 60mm of rain had deluged the Tatura track in the preceding 36 hours and following the RV Stewards inspection the track was deemed unsuitable for racing.

The resulting switch has resulted in some minor distance changes while all scratchings that had been advised for the Tatura meeting have been reinstated.

The Echuca track was rated a Good 4 on Thursday morning.

As a result of the meeting switch, Racing Victoria also amended the acceptance time on Thursday for race meetings at Murtoa on Saturday and the Sunday fixtures at Bendigo and Bairnsdale
