It will be the seventh time Morvada has been to Flemington, the only time he finished out of the placings was as a three-year-old when he finished down the track after leading in the Group 1 Victorian Derby.

An encouraging first-up effort behind Free Of Debt in the Listed Wylie Stakes has his veteran trainer Peter Jolly confident of another bold showing from barrier two with Damian Lane in the saddle.

"That was his best first-up run for quite a few preparations,'' Jolly said.

"He drew a wide barrier and was off the track most of the way but finished a bit over two lengths from the winner,'' he said.

Morvada is marked an $11 chance despite winning under similar conditions earlier in the year in the Group 3 Shaftsbury Avenue Handicap.
