Winning Trainer: Anthony & Sam Freedman (Sam speaking)
"He's done a really good job. He arrived twelve months ago, had a few issues and credit to his ownership group, they've been really patient.
"They've done everything that was required. We took him up to Queensland and he's been in work for a very long time but he's come through a tough system so he's used to that. I don't think the back-up should bother him.
Caulfield Cup: "He'll give it a shake. He'll make them earn it. Even closer to the speed he might be even better suited and really make them run some good sectionals.
"They slowed it up a little bit there mid-race and he got on the chewy a little bit. He had a brilliant rider on-board and he did the rest. The the horse's credit he did a bit of work but kept going."
John Allen does a bit of work on the horse but 52.5 kilos next week: "It might (stretch him). He's done a lot of work on him and a big thank you to all the staff at home. They've done a terrific job and hopefully he is here in seven days."
On Artorius: "He was good. He was a bit slow away - that is the story of him. He reeled off some crazy sectionals late. He's a real talent and he's still learning what it's all about. Still much to come with him."
Sprinter or further: "He won't go to the Cox Plate, I wouldn't think. We'll have that discussion with the owners and work that out, but he may well end up a sprinter next preparation off a really strongly run six furlongs and get back, a little bit like his sire and like Santa Ana Lane. He might be a bit like that."
Winning Jockey: Damien Oliver
"He was a little keen. He got racing a bit when one crossed him early but they didn't got that hard.
"Sam said to me that 'this horse can stay and when you get towards the corner there, don't be afraid to come out and make it a staying test'.
"He was spot on. He's a real galloper. He can stay on a good gallop and he can sustain it. He's a proper European stayer.
Caulfield Cup: "I think he'll give it a shake. He can put himself up on the pace and he's got no weight. He can sustain a gallop. When you get horses in good form out of this race, I think you'd got to really consider them.
His own ride: "I'll see what's doing with Colette. She's had a foot abscess so I'll ride her probably on Wednesday and see how we go."
