Paul Snowden credits a patient approach as the key to Mirra Vision's emergence as a stakes-class mare this spring.

The five-year-old has been in the best form of her career, posting four wins from her past seven starts and landing her first at black-type level in the Angst Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

It was also her first test over 1600 metres and Mirra Vision passed it with flying colours.

Snowden said they decided to give her an extended break at the end of last year so she could mature and they were reaping the rewards this time around.

"This is all a culmination of that good spell we've given her. We just let her develop and grow into herself and we're getting the benefits of that now," Snowden said.

"She's always been a genuine mare but early on in her career, just wet tracks really plagued her.

"She was still going well at home but she wasn't ready to press the button and go on with it, hence the good spell.

"She's had a brief freshen up in between this preparation as well and she's just gone to another level physically now."

Mirra Vision ($4.40) scored by 1-1/4 lengths over the luckless More Prophets ($17) with Kiku ($6) another head away.

The mare's win is likely to put her in the frame for selection in the inaugural $2 million The Invitation (1400m), while proving herself adept over the mile also gives the Snowdens more options..

"Anything is on the cards. She ticked that mile box, which is great for later on and just opens a lot more doors for her," Snowden said
