Winning Jockey: Brett Prebble
On the run: "We went at a nice enough clip and then obviously Homesman put the pressure on from the 650 (metres) and I was left a little flat-footed. I didn't really like the position I was in, but that's what we were dealt and I had to deal with it.
"I was mindful that I was on the fav's back. I was really concerned about Jordie's horse (Nonconformist) today. I liked the way it won and on the firm track I was a big negative against the fav on the firm track and I was right.
"She was all guts. I was out in the last 100 (metres). She had nothing left but every time I kept lifting, she kept trying her heart out.
"It was all guts and determination.
"It was a good finish. I actually congratulated Jordie, which deserves a kick in the backside, but I owe him a bottle of champagne. That was bad form."
Pinching yourself on spring you're having: "I'm getting sick of talking about that. I'm more interested about the quality of horse that I'm riding and the job the trainers are doing for me.
"Let's start talking about them.
"I'm fortunate today I've got two nice winners for Jamie. He took a bit of a push to get me on the horse. He had Damian Lane doing a perfectly good job for him. He was badgered from me to get the ride on Probabeel for the Cox Plate and they went for a jockey that could stay on her.
"That's how I've ended up with those nice rides today."
Grahame Begg on Nonconformist: "I thought Homesman might wind it up from the 600 which happened. I said (to Jordan) that you're better off being the stalker and going hard late. Obviously we're going to the Caulfield Cup next week and I thought the run was outstanding.
"We thought he'd run outstanding. We discussed tactics and it worked out how we thought it would. We were going to be the ones coming late.
Looked like he was under a hold as they were under pressure: "We said that, we said, 'let them go, you'll be strong late'.
Can he beat Incentivise: "It's a horse race."
Who rides:"Craig Williams"
Beaten jockeys:
Jye McNeil - Homesman: "Very honest run. We had nice sectionals through the middle stages and stepped it up a long way out. He ran great."
Craig Williams - Zaaki: "Disappointing that we couldn't keep his picket fence going. The positive from the race is that he's still got improvement in him. He was a little bit fresh and keen in the first half of the race when they put the tempo on. They outsprinted him. He's not as comfortable around Caulfield and even when they outsprinted him late he still stuck on. We didn't win this battle but the war isn't over."
Jordan Childs - Nonconformist: "Super effort. Race worked out how we wanted it to. Followed Zaaki, peeled of it's back and he was super through the line. The other horse just got the bob but he's going to give a good in the Caulfield Cup."
Beau Mertens - No Effort: "I thought she ran great. Just had to get her to the front and do what she does best. They got to me quite quick but ran a very brave race though."
