A question mark lingers over the fitness of Port Guillaume ahead of the Caulfield Cup

Racing Victoria veterinarians inspected 15 of the 18 runners plus the two emergencies ahead of Saturday's Group 1 handicap over 2400m on Thursday.

All horses were pass fit with the exception of Port Guillaume who was showing signs of lameness in the off foreleg.

The Ben and JD Hayes-trained stayer will be re-examined on Friday with the stable reporting the gelding had not miss any work.

RV vets will also go over Quick Thinker, The Chosen One and She's Ideel on Friday to complete their mandatory Caulfield Cup inspections.
