Winning Trainer: Mark Newnham
On the winner: "He has turned into a really tough, genuine, topline horse now. He's developed a really good record. It's his first full preparation as a gelding and he's just doing everything consistently better. His moods are a lot better, he's consistent in his parades. He goes on wet and dry tracks. He's able to put himself into a position early. He showed again today that he can take a sit."
"The only worrying part was I think he switched off too much there on the corner. Josh (Parr) actually gave him a couple with the stick there at the 500 to wake him up but it was still really good to see him dig when he got challenged."
On the horse: "He hasn't had a lot of racing. He's getting better all the time and he can handle wet and dry ground. He's just turned into a really good, genuine horse."
On the day: "It's great to have a crowd back. I got a bit excited there myself. I gave a few cheers, a bit of a fist pump so it's just nice to have people here and it's nice to win a good race on a nice day. I can get drowned out by the others. When you start cheering and you're on your own it's a bit strange."
On the future: "I'll prob go to that Classique Legend because there's a huge bonus on offer there. He's shown at his last couple of starts that he's not just a leader so I'm sure that will help him run a little bit further and a 1300 at Rosehill is a pretty soft 1300. I reckon there's a good chance he'll go there and he'll be very competitive."
Winning Jockey: Josh Parr
On the win: "I'm very proud. I'm so happy as you can see. I'm bursting with energy at the moment. It was a real thrill obviously first day with the crowds back. The atmosphere - the difference. There are 10,000 people here but it feels like 110,000.
On the horse: "I'm really pleased with the horse. He travelled outside leader on a reasonable speed. 600m from home he just idled slightly. He came off the bit. I needed him to be ready for a turn of foot. I gave him a reminder of what was about to come. He was alert to me from that point on."
On the day: "I feed of this type of atmosphere. Must say we've been fortunate to continue as a sport but it has been difficult without the fans, the people here to cheer us on. We appreciate them all here today."
Beaten Jockeys:
Hugh Bowman (Kementari): "Consistent effort as always."
James McDonald (Signore Fox): "Good run."
Kerrin McEvoy (Standout): "Really good run. He's popped out and run well. The winner was just off and gone."
Nash Rawiller (Chat): "Very honest run that. They sprinted home and made it very difficult for us."
Tim Clark (Prime Candidate): "He ran a blinder."
Sam Clipperton (Rocketing By): "He was disappointing."
Regan Bayliss (Luvoir): "Tough run on speed. He'll improve off that."
Tommy Berry (Wheelhouse): "He was warming up nice late. He's in for a good prep."
Alysha Collett (Flat Heaven): "There will be improvement."
Rachel King (Fituese): "Massive run. Just the barrier beat us."
Jason Collett (Enchanted Heart): "Honest run. Just needed softer ground in that company."
