3 minute read

Tips and race by race preview by Brad Gray for Warren.

Race 1 - 12:35PM MACQUARIE TOYOTA MAIDEN PLATE (1400 METRES)

12. Lipstick Lil ran past 9. Girragulang at Coonabarabran two starts back before dropping back to 1000m at Dubbo and finding a couple of rivals too sharp. Jumps out to 1400m for the first time but gives the impression she'll relish it.

Dangers: Girragulang is likely to end up the best horse from this race but he's working it out as he goes. The blinkers went on last start but didn't seem to make much difference. 8. Sensei Jackie continues to race well without winning.

How to play it: Lipstick Lil WIN ($4.40 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 2 - 1:10PM B & D BROUFF EARTHMOVING BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

7. Red Roger is the sleeper in this field. Liked his late work behind 5. Unrestricted at Dubbo two starts ago before he went to the line untested at Coonamble a month ago. This is his first run for Clint Lundholm and the blinkers go back on.

Dangers: Unrestricted only has to hold his form to be thereabouts again. The wide draw looks a touch tricky but with any luck his second to Time To Target, win over 3. Larynx and last start third to Hit The Rim read very well for this race.

How to play it: Red Roger EACH WAY ($16 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: ODDS

Race 3 - 1:45PM QUBE LOGISTICS CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

3. Smart Ain't He has shown very little this time back but he maps to own this race from the front and if he can suddenly rediscover the form he was in last preparation, he'd win. Gets the blinkers back on and steps out to the mile third up.

Dangers: Kylie Kennedy will be hoping the rain comes for 1. Lord Of Helicon. He bolted in on a heavy track two starts ago before holding his ground out to the mile, running fifth. 5. Dead On Time is one for the exotics.

How to play it: Smart Ain't He WIN ($14 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: ODDS

Race 4 - 2:20PM HUTCHESON AND PEARCE MAIDEN HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

17. Sumo was a real eye catcher at Coonabarabran first up, in what looks a key form reference for this. She was run off her feet over the 900m trip but was closing hard late. Maybe the 1000m is going to be a touch sharp again but at the odds, happy to take the gamble.

Dangers: 8. Carry On Cathy led up that race and felt the pinch late, running second. Strips fitter. 6 The Big Seal bumped into a handy one first up and also can only improve second up while wary of the first starter 7. Latest News.

How to play it: Sumo EACH WAY ($21 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 5 - 2:55PM NUTRIEN AG SOLUTIONS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

3. Kensington Kid was excellent at Tamworth three runs back and has had excuses for his latest two flops. At Port Macquarie he was attacked in front over 1200m on a soft track and folded up before the wide draw ruined his chances at Scone. Can bounce back.

Dangers: 4. Miss Kojiki has been a costly horse to punters but the mare finds another suitable race while 1. Rebecca's Quest warrants respect but it's been six weeks since we saw her resume with a second at Leeton.

How to play it: Kensington Kid EACH WAY ($19 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 6 - 3:35PM HALCROFT & BENNETT BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

There's speed right across the track for this so looking for a horse that'll be strong late. 1. Fourth Protocol is first up but he fits that profile. Will be allowed to find his feet in the second half of the field before coming with a rush. Each way in a wide open race.

Dangers: 3. Military Bay and 4. Mr Cruise come out of a deep race at Scone won by Brave Enough but have drawn awkwardly. Their trainers might have other races in mind so could be scratched. Respect both if they line up, however.

How to play it: Fourth Protocol WIN ($9.50 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 7 - 4:10PM RICHARDSON & SINCLAIR CLASS 3 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

1. Oakfield Navajo was perhaps expected to win easier at Muswellbrook last start when sent around a $1.50 pop but he got the job done and the time stacked up well across the meeting. Is well placed to continue to build his handy little record.

Dangers: 5. All Hollywood spent 42 weeks on the sidelines before resuming at Muswellbrook and then finding the line at Orange. Shouldn't be too far away from his top now third up. Will be running on hard.

How to play it: Oakfield Navajo WIN ($2.70 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: ODDS

Race 8 - 4:54PM QUBE AGRI COTTON CUP (1600 METRES)

All bar one horse here comes via the Coonabarabran Cup and 1. Wild Rocket was the one really savaging the line late. Just had to give away too big a start from the wide draw. In a smaller field she won't be as far back and any rain around is a big bonus.

Dangers: 2. Oakfield Captain ran second in the Coonabarabran Cup and there was a good gap back to third. Will settle in the first couple again and give another sight. It's a similar case for 3. Rich And Shameless.

How to play it: Wild Rocket WIN ($3.80 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 9 - 5:30PM QUBE AGRI WARREN JOCKEY CLUB SPRINT (1200 METRES)

1. Classy Rebel can't be stopped at the moment. It took a brilliant ride at Coonabarabran last start to deny him yet another win. He'll spear across to the front from the wide draw and you're brave to tip against him given the rare form he finds himself in.

Dangers: 3. Patrick May has couple of lengths to make up on Classy Rebel from the last time they clashed but he'll be camped on his back and meets him 4kg better off. He'll be hoping something punches up to make Classy Rebel work early.

How to play it: Classy Rebel WIN ($2.80 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: ODDS
