What a thrill for @GriffithsdeKock to win their hometown Cup. @Country_Racing @LachieJamesKing @CranTurfClub pic.twitter.com/6NDZONvNWC
Winning Trainer: Robbie Griffiths & Mathew de Kock
Mat: "It's very special. To think, in our first year as a partnership in Cranbourne to win the Cranbourne Cup, it's amazing.
Robbie: "This is big. This is very special. To win your hometown Cup especially this year in our first as a partnership.
"The president of the club here, Neil Bainbridge and the team have all done a fantastic job so it is very, very special."
Why the horse is so tough: "It's our facilities. The team do a fantastic job. Don'ttelltheboss has 20 runs so he's still got 10 to go."
Future: "He's going to have a break now. We spoke to Greg Carpenter about nominating him for the All-Star Mile - whether he was good enough. He'll have a lot of backing. A lot of people follow him.
"But in all seriousness we thought he pulled up so well after the Cantala.
Mat: "I think after today's win he deserves a little rest."
Winning Jockey: Lachlan King
"I thought I'm not going to leave it to early. I just have to keep in mind that he's got a really powerful 200 metre sprint but I don't think he can sustain it.
"I was taking every furlong as it came. He was new on the heavy 10, we didn't really know what to expect. He's fit, presented immaculately and too good."
Surprised the level the horse has got to: "A little bit. Speaking to Mat and Robbie prior to the race, a year ago we got beaten in a photo at Flemington in a '64' and now he's got black type pedigree now.
"It's a great effort and the benchmarks are there to go through. I think Robbie has placed him fantastic, taken him through his grades and he collects cheques every time.
"It means a great deal. They've been great to me, these guys. Same with King Magnus. I've just come out of my (apprenticeship) time, I've just become a senior. I've got to go and reinvent myself and be out there with the big boys, you've got the act like one.
"The ball was in my court today and to be able to get the job done, very good."
