RACE 1 - 2:15PM Merry Christmas from Strathalbyn Racing Club C,G & E Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

VEZERE RIVER was well backed behind Extremely Lucky at Murray Bridge last time. This looks a winnable race from the good barrier. YOWZA had backing in the Sadler's Song race at Morphettville. He gets in here well after the claim. Ryan Balfour has two leading hopes here. MODRIC fitter for an OK run first-up behind Sadler's Song and drawn a nice barrier. WHOSEZOU is first-up off a break and his form was over further last time in. BUTTS is on debut for the Hickmott/Riggs stable and finished 3rd in a recent Oakbank trial.

SELECTIONS: 7 VEZERE RIVER, 4 Yowza, 1 Modric, 3 Whosezou

PLAY: VEZERE and YOWZA to run the quinella.

RACE 2 - 2:50PM 'Empower your Future with MAS' Maiden Plate (1350 METRES)

DEEP'N MEANINGFUL looks perfectly placed here. He was runner-up at Horsham on debut and then came to SA and was solid behind Sadler's Song at Morphettville. He draws out but looks to have an edge on a few of these. ARTFUL RAIDER could be an improver here at big odds. MAGICAL RIDE was runner-up behind Max Fire at Oakbank back in September and fitter for one run back. EARL OF SANDWICH draws the inside but has had a few chances,

PLAY: Backing DEEP'N MEANINGFUL straight out and something small each-way ARTFUL RAIDER.

RACE 3 - 3:25PM Northpoint Fleurieu Benchmark 54 Handicap (1600 METRES)

REINVIGORATE was thrown in the deep end in the Lord Reims early in the year and is fitter for two runs back from a spell. He draws well and this looks his race to improve. RIVER has been good her past couple running 2nd at Balaklava behind Not Alone and then was on speed behind Kalamon there last time. KILOWATT has been racing well here running 2nd behind It's A Shame two starts back before beating Don't Dismiss this track and trip last time. WHISKEY 'N' WOMEN has ability and would be in the finish on his best form.

SELECTIONS: 3 REINVIGORATE, 8 River, 2 Kilowatt, 1 Whiskey 'N' Women

PLAY: Happy to have something each-way on REINVIGORATE here.

RACE 4 - 4:00PM Milang Caravan Park F&M Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

MISS LANGTRY is first-up here and ran well on debut this time last year. She was OK at her second start here, which was also off a break and has won a Strathalbyn jump-out ahead of her return. This isn't a race loaded with depth and she draws a perfect gate. ZARLEY EVE was placed at Bordertown behind Morty back in January and is fitter for one run back. MYSTIC STORM comes out of some stronger races and shapes an improver. HACKERESS is a former Victorian who was placed at Ballarat in August behind Star Of Chaos but was sent out big odds at her local debut when well beaten.

SELECTIONS: 5 MISS LANGTRY, 8 Zarley Eve, 12 Mystic Storm, 3 Hackeress

PLAY: Confident MISS LANGTRY has found a nice first-up assignment

RACE 5 - 4:35PM Support Our Ambo's Benchmark 52 Hcp (Heat 3 Montgomerie/Forrest Challenge) (Apprentice Riders Only) (1100 METRES)

KUNGKA MARU was an Oakbank winner two starts back and then OK up in class beaten 3.2 lengths behind Hearty Lass in town. He gets on very well after the Stacey Callow claim and looks hard to beat. SHOWUSYOURMOTOR has been in the money at both starts here. Had solid market support when 5th behind Turf Tapper at Penola last start. NOT A ZAK was OK running 4th behind Full Probe at Morphettville two starts back. DEXTER DUTTON ran well at odds behind Equichunk last time. FINAL CHANCE maps well.

SELECTIONS: 11 KUNGKA MARU, 6 Showusyourmotor, 1 Not A Zak, 4 Dexter Dutton

PLAY: Emergency KUNGKA MARU looks the one in a race with a few winning hopes.

RACE 6 - 5:10PM Commercial Hotel Benchmark 62 Handicap (1350 METRES)

FULTON STREET has won four of seven starts here and comes off a good win over Cuban Toonite. He has to shoulder 63kg after the change Ben Price claim but this looks another winnable race. CLEVER MAN was in great form before a freshen-up and has trialled OK. His best form is over slightly further but draws well and looks a big threat. MIROKU comes out of stronger races in town and maps well from the gate. RUN AND TELL was a drifter in the market but too good leading throughout to beat Bamyan Buddha here last time. He draws to lead. CARBONE gets the blinkers again, RANGER CEE JAY has a good record here.

SELECTIONS: 1 FULTON STREET, 2 Clever Man, 3 Miroku, 6 Run And Tell

PLAY: FULTON STREET might be too good even with the big weight.

RACE 7 - 5:45PM Goolwa Central Meats Class One Handicap (1350 METRES)

YEELANNA was a Balaklava maiden winner back in September and has been runner-up her past two the latest behind Rubble. She draws a nice gate and looks hard to beat here. SUDANN is a former Kiwi who was an easy Traralgon maiden winner for Peter Moody in October and comes to SA and trained on track by Shane Oxlade. ZERO INN was a Morphettville winner on debut at a price and her two runs back have been OK just behind the placegetters. WICKED ADDICTION was a winner here two starts back and OK behind Secret War last time. IS THAT SO was runner-up behind Secret War three starts back. ZIP AKEED is racing well having placed her past two.

SELECTIONS: 5 YEELANA, 1 Sudann, 4 Zero Inn, 2 Wicked Addiction

PLAY: ZERO INN worth an each-way ticket at double figure odds.

RACE 8 - 6:15PM Drinks at the Commercial after the last Benchmark 54 Handicap (1200 METRES)

EQUICHUNK was on speed here last time when a winner over Dexter Dutton. He maps well from the good draw and should be thereabouts. DASKULYA was a Murray Bridge winner two starts back before an OK effort behind Secret War. SANDSATION has been good at his past couple the latest behind Zegresto at Murray Bridge and gets in OK after the claim. DISTANT LOVER has claims on a Pakenham maiden win back in May. SO BENE has run some good race in stronger class. VINDEX races well fresh.

SELECTIONS: 4 EQUICHUNK, 3 Daskulya, 1 Sandsation, 2 Distant Lover

PLAY: Tough end to the day, VINDEX looks over the odds even from a wide gate.
