Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young to debut filly Bonheur at Caufield with the Blue Diamond in mind.

Trent Busuttin and Natalie are no strangers to the winners' stalls across Australia but for the six-time Group 1 winning pair their biggest gamble to-date steps out on Saturday with million-dollar filly Bonheur on debut in the Ann Kikenny Handicap over 1000 metres.

By I Am Invincible and her dam being 2014 Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) winner Bonaria, Bonheur has impressed in three jump outs at Cranbourne with the latest a winning effort over 850 metres on 29 December.

"We've given her a few trials and in that trial last week she won by about four lengths doing handstands, really," Young said.

"We paid a lot for her at the Magic Millions and it was the first time we've paid over a million dollars for a horse but she is worth that on her pedigree.

"She's come through that trial well and we had her earmarked for Saturday.

"Hopefully she can get that city win and we've got a few nice races for her.

Their interest already piqued in the filly but the reality of the investment needed consideration.

"We saw her up at the Hunter Valley and when she walked out at Widden Stud I knew we wanted her.

"I loved her and I was disappointed when Trent said we'd have to pay a million dollars on that pedigree but sometimes when you're going alright you have to spend a bit of coin.

"If we get the city win with her she's worth the residual value anyway."

After Saturday's run, the short term aim lies with the Group 2 Blue Diamond Prelude for fillies over 1100 metres then to the $1.5 million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) on 26 February.
