2022 CANONBURY STAKES – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS

Decent tempo anticipated with Sweet Ride heading them off. GREAT BARRIER REEF (4) has displayed plenty of ability at the trials and creates all the interest on debut for the Chris Waller stable. Drawn to receive all the favours and the booking of McDonald is an obvious push. Should get every chance and looks very hard to beat.

Stablemate ZAMBEZI RIVER (8) is likely to get back in the field but displayed good ability when finishing second on debut in the Breeders' Plate and shapes as the main danger. SWEET RIDE (1) won well on debut at Rosehill and while this is a step up, he should lead and give them all something to gun down. ROBUSTO (7) was sent out favourite on debut in the Maribyrnong Trial Stakes and wasn't beaten far. Since spelled, has trialled nicely and appears the next in line.
