Clarken sets Angel Like a Moonee Valley mission

3 minute read

Will Clarken has opted to roll the dice with Angel Like in Melbourne this weekend.

A last-start Murray Bridge winner, Angel Like will head to Moonee Valley on Friday night with apprentice Madison Lloyd booked to ride.

Despite drawing a sticky gate, Will Clarken said dropping back from 1200m to the 955m at Moonee Valley in a race which looked to have a hot speed was ideal for the three-year-old filly.

"She's going to go to the Valley,'' Clarken said on RadioTAB.

"She's going terrific, and I like her over something a bit shorter.

"They are going to really run along, she's against her own age group, and she'll be flashing late,'' he said.

Clarken will have four runners at Morphettville including form Victorian filly Sweet Ginger who scored smartly first-up in SA at Oakbank.
