The connections of Ladbrokes Hobart Cup winner Ho Ho Khan will wait until weights are declared on Thursday before deciding whether to send the former Hong Kong stayer around in the Ladbrokes Launceston Cup next week.

Ho Ho Khan carried top weight of 59kg in the Ladbrokes Hobart Cup and defeated fellow Victorian and race favourite In a Twinkling by four lengths without being ridden out fully over the concluding stages.

The gelding's trainer Mitch Freedman said he has an idea of what weight he thought his talented stayer would be given in the Launceston Cup bit would not divulge it.

"The horse is still in Tassie at Scott Brunton's stables, and he (Brunton) said the horse has done well," Freedman said from Melbourne on Wednesday.

"I'll come back down on Friday and see how he is and give him a gallop on Saturday morning to see how he feels, but a Launceston Cup start could all depend on that weight he is given," Freedman said.

If all 12 nominations accept it will be a similar field that contested the Hobart Cup, with the primary additions being the Symon Wilde-trained Aurora's Symphony that won the Colac Cup (2000m) last Friday, and recent Sydeston Cup winner The Risk Factor.
