Dramazing delights punters with effortless win

One runner for one win a good night out for Campbell.

Hall of Fame trainer Barry Campbell took only one horse to the Launceston meeting on Wednesday night and four-year-old mare Dramazing never let him down.

Courtesy of a gun ride from Daniel Ganderton, Dramazing made up for seconds at her first two starts and a fourth heading into this latest assignment, by cruising to an effortless win in a maiden over 1420m, much to the delight of punters.

The daughter of Artie Schiller-Darci Drama ran second at her first two starts in Devonport last season and she raced without luck first-up in Launceston two weeks ago.

Dramazing ($1.80 fav) settled beyond midfield but was always traveling in her comfort zone and when Ganderton made his move the result was never in doubt as she stormed to the lead in the home straight and went on to defeat Silver Persuasion ($21) by two lengths with Miss Sleuth ($8.50) almost three lengths astern.

"The mare is only lightly raced and still does a bit wrong, so there is plenty of improvement to come," Campbell said.

"Early on, it was hard keeping the weight on her, but she has good condition on her now.

"She's been a bit unlucky not to have won early on, but she's done the job tonight.

"She's not there yet so she should continue to improve."

Ganderton agreed with Campbell about her immaturity.

"She has won tonight still doing a lot of things wrong so you would think she has more to offer once she matures," Ganderton said.
