Winning Trainer: Leon & Troy Corstens (Dom Sutton speaking)
Troy absent, at Nathan Bennett's 40th birthday.
Make of effort out to the mile: "He was super today. He's been really consistent all preparation. He's been a little unlucky not to have won one already. He was matching it with the big boys in the C S Hayes last start and he wasn't disgraced and dropping back in grade was a big positive."
Good addition to the program: "A horse like him, it's a perfect example. He's in that sort of in between grade, slightly below those top flighters, yet competitive at the same time.
"It's great for the owners to have a chance at good prize money. Troy picked this race out a while ago and it's nice the plan came off."
Winning Jockey: Damien Oliver
First ride on him: "It's only in the last six to 10 months that I've been riding for Troy and Ethan (Brown) had a an existing relationship with this horse and he stayed with him. I trialled him the other day and he was really sharp and I thought a mile might test him a little bit, but all credit to them, they got him here in the right race, a restricted race, and I think that helped him get the mile. He's always been a little promising horse and I think they're going to have a lot of fun with him."
Bumping duel on turn: "He's not the biggest horse and I was hoping he would squeeze his way out and fortunately he was able to do it. I think he needed that sort of run to win at the mile and it worked out well."
