Coolmore Classic winner Lighthouse is battling to overcome a foot issue and will need to pass a vet test to take her place in the Doncaster Mile

Co-trainer Ciaron Maher has told Racing NSW stewards that the mare has a pulse in her near-fore foot and is currently receiving treatment.

She will undergo a veterinary examination on Friday to determine whether she is fit to take her place in Saturday's $3 million showpiece.

Lighthouse is a $15 chance in Doncaster markets.

The first day of The Championships already has two early casualties with Victorian youngster Millane scratched from the Group 1 Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) and Zoo Station out of the Country Championships Final (1400m).

Millane failed to finish his feed overnight and trainer Peter Moody was not satisfied he was in the right condition to travel to Sydney.

Zoo Station has developed heat and swelling his near foreleg and has been withdrawn by trainer Gaynor Williams

His scratching has resulted in the Alison Smith-trained How's It Kev being elevated into the field for the $500,000 Final.
