Winning Trainer: Mike Moroney
On the preparation: "We were going to go the Launceston Cup and she went terribly one day at Moonee Valley and come close to retirement actually. I thought she was just badly in season that day and then she come out and won her next start. The noms for the Sydney Cup were closed about then, she's due to be sold in the broodmare sale but they might keep going another year again now."
"She was due to be sold last year too. She's a really good staying mare. I've always been a believer that she would stay, even though some of the jockeys told me that they didn't think she would. I think the combination of her learning to relax a little bit more in this sort of ground she's obviously adept in it. She's done a great job."
On what's next: "We've got a little to think about now whether we head to Queensland or what we do with her. She's deep into her preparation but as you know with mares like that they can stay in form and she's done a really good job."
"She gave us signs during the week her work was up to the best she's ever worked, I just couldn't fault her. I knew she was hard and fit and probably the first trip I've had her 100%.
Winning Jockey: Regan Bayliss
On the run in transit: "Clarky (Tim Clark on 2nd horse Knight's Order) bowled along at a beautiful tempo. We were able to begin well, that was one of the key attributes she gets out of the barriers cleanly. I got across to the fence confident that Tim would take me where I had to be. Luckily the horse outside the leader Feel The Rush was able to drop off and start feeling off the bridle and I was able to get to the middle of the track where I wanted to get and she did the rest."
On stealing some slow sectionals: "I thought we got it very cheap there especially during the middle stages. Obviously Clarky put the pressure on from about the 800 but nothing really come into it. It was a ding-dong battle and you never want to get to Gai's (Waterhouse) horses too early. Lucky enough this mare thrived at the 2600 and did a good job."
On the training performance: "As we all know Mike's (Moroney) is great at getting these stayers up and going. She's been around for a little while, obviously first go at the distance she's really relished it. She was in tip-top order here today and she loves that bit of sting out of the ground and she's won accordingly."
On his Doncaster ride (Private Eye) later in the card: I'm happy they are racing off the fence, it gives our horse in a high-pressure Doncaster over the mile, although he's drawn wide a little bit of cover there somewhere mid-field maybe a touch worse and let him rip down the outside.
Beaten Jockeys:
Hugh Bowman (Great House): "Credible run. Just not at home on the heavy ground."
Nash Rawiller (Surprise Baby): "Never really comfortable in the ground."
James McDonald (She's Ideel): "She's been a good horse but probably a length or two off her best at the moment."
Tim Clark (Knights Order): "Terrific effort. Ran really well."
William Pike (Zeyrek): "Wasn't good enough for the first few."
Teodore Nugent (South Pacific): "Struggled in the going."
Tom Sherry (Avion Fury): "Just not up to that class."
Robbie Dolan (Luncies): "Good run. If the track dried out he'll be in the finish next week."
Craig Williams (Alakahan): "He had a really bad barrier. Running really well this preparation."
Tyler Schiller (Kaapfever): "Great run. Next start I think he'll be going pretty close."
Rachel King (Savvy Valentino): "Disappointing today."
Jay Ford (Sweet Thomas): "Encouraging run first time he's found the line this prep."
Kathy O'Hara (True Marvel): "He's just finding these tracks really uncomfortable."
Linda Meech (Feel The Rush): "She doesn't stop but she doesn't quicken."
Jean Van Overmeire (Olympic Gaze): "Just doesn't show turn of foot at all."
