Uniquely has landed her third win from her past four starts with a strong win at Sandown.

Uniquely has ticked off an important win for her trainer Dan O'Sullivan with victory at Sandown with the trainer now eyeing 'black type' with a mare he also part-owns. 

The daughter of Toronado registered her third win from her last four starts when taking out the Ladbrokes Blended Bets Handicap (2100m) on Wednesday. 

The one 'miss' came at Flemington on March 19 when Uniquely failed to see out the 2500m journey. 

Relishing the trip on Wednesday under apprentice Alana Kelly, Uniquely ($5.50) scored by a neck from Shultzy ($11) with dead-heaters Diplomatic Jack ($26) and Anchorman ($21) 1-½ lengths away third. 

O'Sullivan blamed himself for the for the Flemington defeat believing Uniquely would run the trip. 

"Sometimes we get it right, but we got the Flemington one wrong," O'Sullivan said. 

"I'm not saying she will never run a trip out, but she didn't quite get it, and today it was a beautiful ride by Alana, getting her in the right spot. 

"Everyone knows she's riding in good form. She's ridden this filly well each time she's ridden her for me. 

"She's a very well-bred filly and it's nice to get the win in town with her." 

Uniquely is the younger sister of Affair To Remember who was a Group 2 winner of the Matriarch Stakes (2000m) at Flemington before injury cut short her career. 

O'Sullivan said he would like to secure a Saturday metropolitan win with Uniquely and further afield some 'black type'. 

He said the Listed Centaurea Stakes (2000m) at Morphettville next month may be a suitable option. 

"Optimistically the Centaurea over in Adelaide might be a race for her," O'Sullivan said. 

"But she's a city winner now, so it would be nice to get another city win or some black type for her. 

"She is a sister to Affair To Remember who was a Group 2 winner with a good page, so hopefully this one can add to it."
