Trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr have held a healthy respect for Sense Of Honour whose career has been cut short through injury.

After 20 months away from racing, Sense Of Honour made her return at Sandown last month and is set for the second run of her campaign in the L U Simon Builders Handicap (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

Sense Of Honour was successful on debut at Sandown in January 2020 and two starts later scored over the straight 1200m course at Flemington the following July, the last time she was seen until finishing third to Universal Lady over 1000m at Sandown on March 23.

Price has long held the view that Sense Of Honour to be an above average galloper and hopes the now four-year-old daughter of Pride Of Dubai can string a few runs together.

"She's a very good filly that unfortunately had a long time out and she's going to keep improving after each run," Price said.

"I'm looking forward to her getting a solid preparation this time around.

"She's had a few knee issues and we had to give her a lot of time, but she is nice and sound and robust at the moment, and I think she can have a good preparation."

Price does not subscribe to the theory that Sense Of Honour could race a little flat at her second outing following her long break away from racing.

He said Sense Of Honour had won a trial at Colac before her return run at Sandown and had the required work prior and following the Sandown performance.

"We didn't have her gassed up to win first-up," Price said.

"We had her ready to run well and she did run well, and she is on an improving scale, so I can't see her being dogged by the second-up syndrome there."
