2022 VICTORY STAKES – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Expecting Rothfire to set a genuine tempo after crossing from wide out. All interest in the return of the highly talented ROTHFIRE (3) who lines up for the first time in seven months. Won the G2 Run To The Rose first up two preps back; that sort of form will be good enough to win a race like this. Loves the Farm and can spear over and dictate from the wide gate. No flash price but looks the winner if he's right.
COUNT DE RUPEE (2) looked home in the Hall Mark last start at Randwick until Nash burrowed through on Kementari. Good to see him back in form, and over this trip with a soft run out of the inside alley he will be tough to beat as always. BALLER (6) is a chance resuming from a 15-week spell. Has won at this level and was beaten narrowly first up last prep over this trip at Doomben. Must be included.
STARTANTES (11) last appeared when beaten a whisker in the G1 Surround over 1400m at Randwick nine weeks ago. Class filly with outstanding 1200m stats. RANCH HAND (10) gave Paulele a fright first up in February so while fresh he poses a threat.
