Winning Trainer: Barry Baldwin
On Gave Us Up's form so deep into the prep: "Good improvement. We did sort of half suspect it. When he goes so far, just how far do you go? We'll just have to see if there are any signs of fatigue. It is pretty hard to spell them after that but, this is where you've got to tread lightly. It is (start number 11 this prep) and they're getting better."
On how he's doing in the stable for a prolonged period: "I think last time I told you it's 445kg and he's 448 now. While they are putting on a bit of weight, when they are going forward and still fit, it is a pretty good sign. We'll just watch his legs and a few little telling things, I just don't want to go too far."
Moving forward into the Winter Carnival: "There are a couple of ways you can go. The company gets stronger but that was a pretty tidy win."
Winning Jockey: Jaden Lloyd
Thoughts on leading: "He began really well today and I just wanted to go with him because he can pull. Once nobody wanted to take it up, I was happy to happy to do that. We got to wait a couple of cheap sectionals and he relaxed nicely in front. I always knew was going to kick hard."
Optimum trip: "He just gets stronger and stronger and stronger. I don't see no reason why he can't go up a little bit in the distance. He keeps on getting better."
