2022 QUEENSLAND DERBY – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS

Genuine tempo with a few on-speed runners engaged, with Anythink Goes, Global Ausbred and Menazzi prominent. The preparation of DARK DESTROYER (2) looks timed to perfection. He has improved with each Brisbane start, running on well for second in the Queensland Guineas then relishing a rise in trip when proving too strong in the Rough Habit Plate here last start. That will have brought him to his peak and he is drawn to get the favours.

PATERNAL (12) looks a threat after closing to within a head of Dark Destroyer in the Rough Habit. That effort suggested this journey will suit and Bowman goes back on. PINARELLO (5) is a progressive Kiwi who arrives off a G2 win over 2100m. Draws wide but he looks a talent. CABOCHE (3) is close to a win of back-to-back seconds and will be cherry ripe while TING TONG (10) is honest and makes each way appeal.
