Winning Trainer: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott (Bott speaking)
On the run: "She was out on her feet there late. I must admit I got a little bit distracted mid-race, so I only picked them up from the 600, it was obviously unfortunate circumstances there (with Steel Prince collapsing shortly after the start), but she was put into the race and kicked clear, so it was good to see her hold on. It was a good, tough win."
On her previous start in the Adrew Ramsden Stakes: "I thought there was a lot of merit to that run and that probably set her up nicely for this
"It was a good, tough run over the 2800 metres. The pressure came on quite early in that race, she toughed it out well and loomed up but maybe that distance she didn't quite see it out the first time of going.
"I think no doubt going forward she will, now that she's had those couple of runs over that trip. She's certainly a handy staying mare for us going forward.
On the preparation ahead: "We'll potentially look at the (Brisbane) Cup now that she's up there. She seems to thrive this time of the year. She's a mare in form and a mare that can stay so it's certainly got to be considered."
Winning Jockey: Tim Clark
On the way the race panned out: "I didn't want to rush her too much early, she can just sort of want to overdo things slightly.
"Early on there was plenty of pressure. I was able to slot in nicely, then the tempo came out of the race and rather than fight her too much I let stride forward and be up on speed but the leader didn't take me anywhere.
"I probably would have head-butted a wall if I got beaten (for) going too soon, so I'm glad she hung for me.
On the mare: "Full credit to her, she started off in Sydney, went to Melbourne, Adelaide, back to Melbourne and now back up here, so she's one tough girl."
