Jockey of the moment Mark Zahra will put Illation through his paces in a jump-out at Cranbourne in a bid to get the entire back to the races.

Trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr have no set plans for Illation after the four-year-old suffered his first defeat in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 27.

Illation underwent a 'dynamic scope' that showed instability in the throat which may require surgery.

Zahra rode a treble at Flemington on Saturday, including the day's feature, the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes on the Price and Kent Jnr-trained I'm Thunderstruck

"I'm going to trial him with Mark Zahra on and get an opinion," Price said.

"The throat needs to be looked at and considered before we race and whether we need some surgical intervention or not, I'm not sure yet."

Illation will wear a tongue tie, crossover noseband and a nasal strip in Monday's hit-out.

"There's no races on the agenda at the moment, so we'll deal with what we have to do," Price said.

With Illation not running in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday, the stable will still have three representatives, Ayrton (Damian Lane), Age Of Chivalry (Ethan Brown) and Chaillot (Daniel Moor).

Chaillot is a newcomer to Price and Kent Jnr yard with the stable finding it difficult to get a read on the mare who was formerly trained by Archie Alexander.

"She's going well but she may be a bit ring rusty for a 1400-metre Group 1," Price said.

"She can be a little bit difficult to read as she's a very relaxed mare in trackwork, but we'll run her and get a guide on her.

"Age Of Chivalry ran well first-up at Moonee Valley and has trained on well since and he's run well in these races before while Ayrton, he trialled good last week and has worked well since."

Price said the trio was likely to head to Caulfield on Tuesday morning to gallop.
