Weekend Wrap: Callow's mixed weekend

3 minute read

BOLD Bordertown front runner Territory Titan gave Stacey Callow a lasting memory with her first metropolitan winner at Morphettville on Saturday.

The promising youngster took the James and Lisa Dodgson-trained galloper straight to the lead before pulling out plenty in the run to the judge to hold off a fast finishing Palani.

But less than two hours after the success Stacey Callow suffered a race fall and broke her collarbone which will see the talented apprentice sidelined for two months.

Top jockey Todd Pannell took riding honours with a double.

Pannell scored aboard Anphina early in the day for the Andrew Bobbin stable before Commander Meroo broke his maiden when out muscled Imbibe.

MEANWHILE Cranbourne trainer Mick Kent landed a successful interstate raid at Mount Gambier on Sunday with a winning double including a heat of the Jericho Cup over the 3150m.

Callan Murray was in the saddle for both, Skipping Girl winning her maiden early in the day before Royal Crown proved the superior stayer holding off Smiling Assassin in the feature.

Lachlan Overall also had a winning double while fellow Victorian Tom Dabernig and Daniel Bowman had training success.
