2022 THE METROPOLITAN – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS

Sacramento and Grove Ferry should lead and set a solid tempo. DURSTON (7) returned a new career peak in the Newcastle Gold Cup last start when winning easily over 2300m. Rates clear off the back of that and only looks to have to repeat that level of performance to win again.

LE DON DE VIE (2) comes here fresh (42 days) and will certainly relish the rain around. McDonald is a key booking and he shapes as the main danger. STOCKMAN (1) was good late in the Kingston Town Stakes last start and should be right at his peak fourth up. Gives weight away but has earned it and has to be included in the main chances. GROVE FERRY (11) won well last weekend and has to be included on the quick back up.
