Winning Trainer: Kristen Buchanan
On winning a $500,000 race: "Great result for the stable, a fantastic result for one of our biggest supporters. Bruce Mackenzie's been amazing for my stable and given us some fantastic opportunities and this little mare has just been so consistent. She's won two Midways and this is just a race we had in mind for her to really target."
On drawing wide: "You think you've drawn a bad gate, and then that's where you want to be n the track. So you just never know what's going to happen."
On the impact of the introduction of Midway races in Sydney: "They're a game changer. It's been amazing for our stable and the opportunities we've had because of it has just been phenomenal."
Winning Jockey: Zac Lloyd
On picking up two winners on Golden Eagle day: "It's absolutely surreal. Thank you very much to Miss Buchanan for the ride. It's a half a million dollar race, you don't get these every day. So I'm just thankful for the opportunity I had and it all panned out nicely."
On thinking he would've settled a bit closer: "So did I. We waited in the gates a bit long and she just began a bit tardy, but I was adamant I didn't want to be too far back in the big field. I was more than happy to be three-deep with cover, which I was, and got into a lovely rhythm throughout and peeled out nicely. She picked very quickly and just maybe hit the front a bit soon, so there was still a bit in the tank at the end which was good."
Beaten Jockeys:
Hugh Bowman (Mahagoni): "I was proud of his effort but faster ground, back in trip."
Amy McLucas (Casino Mondial): "He travelled ok in the run. Just didn't seem to let down today so hopefully next start he can come out better."
Kerrin McEvoy (Adios Steve): No comment provided
Ellen Hennessy (Mcgeehan): "Just wants further. Hit a flat spot."
Jamie Kah (Awesome Lad): "Great effort."
Sam Clipperton (The Guru): "He is ticking over OK for a longer distance."
Reece Jones (Sebrenco): "Terrific run just behind the speed there. Once clear attacked the line well."
Nash Rawiller (Excelladus): No comment provided
Keagan Latham (Poseidon Ruler): He travelled quite nicely but was in need of the run."
Tim Clark (Danish Prince): "He ran pretty honestly. Got momentarily held up on the turn. After that I thought he worked home well."
Tommy Berry (Buba): "Just had too much work to do from the gate."
Dylan Gibbons (Prince Aurelius): "Missed the kick."
Luke Nolen (Brazen Song): No comment provided
Frankie Dettori (Burning Need): "Had a tough draw but she finished strongly."
Koby Jennings (Sally Pops): "We found ourselves in a nice spot. She was relaxed which was the main thing. Just found wanting from the top of the straight onwards."
Jamie Spencer (Stray): "Didn't really show much."
Regan Bayliss (Wealthy Investor): "No luck in running. He ran well."
William Pike (Lemaire): "He ran well. Got held up at vital stages."
Tom Sherry (Scorched Land): "Just didn't really get around the bends. When placed under pressure once balanced he did hit the line well."
