Cotel will attempt to remain unbeaten when she heads to Flemington for the first time.
Unbeaten Cotel will be giving away both age and experience when she heads to Flemington for the first time on Saturday.
The daughter of Charge Forward will be out to build on her perfect start to her racing career when she runs in the G H Mumm (1100m) at Flemington.
Cotel scored a debut win at Caulfield in July and returned from a spell to claim victory at Cranbourne on November 25 over 1000m.
Trainer Peter Moody said the filly was deserving of taking a shot at the older mares on Saturday.
"She was impressive against older horses first-up, so it's always encouraging to see them do that," Moody said.
"She's taking on the older mares again on Saturday and I just thought the step up to 1100 metres was going to suit her nicely.
"I suppose how she handles the straight will dictate her chances.
"It would be nice to see her sit off one and run it down. I think if she could find a bunny down the straight that would help her."
Moody prepared Headway, who like Cotel was a daughter of Charge Forward and one of that stallion's best performed gallopers.
And being both the sole owner and breeder of Cotel, Moody said he will take his time in placing the filly to her best advantage.
"I own her, and I bred her, so I'm hoping like hell there's a few bonuses in store for her," Moody said.
"She's a short, stocky, compact type, not unlike a lot of the Charge Forward's.
"I'm not thinking she is a Headway that won a Group 1, but if she can keep building on her record and keep looking after her owner like she has done so far, it will be a big bonus."
